Okay so I'm looking for a pinkxwhite stripe stretchy fabric like seen in this MAM top: http://www.maxicimam.com/_mam/8C2001.html but I'm having pretty much no luck. I checked ebay, but I can only seem to find fabrics that I don't think are quite what I'm looking for - I envision it being more like a soft jersey or cotton/poly/spandex? knit. I did find one place that specializes in stretchy fabrics but a) they want you to buy in bulk of 25yds or more and b) I can't quite envision what each of their types of fabric are like to the touch. I feel like I've maxed out google so I was wondering if any of you seamstresses out there have links stashed away to good fabric places (^^) I'll probably go check out my local JoAnn's soon, but in the past I've had little luck finding any fabric like that at all even in solid colors (-_-).
Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

Last week I put all the commissioned clothes I was working on on my bed, to sort, iron and fold, and I thought it made a cute picture.

I've tried googling this every which way, but can't seem to find a decent picture for an easy stencil. Does anyone have any cute crown stencils or photos that could be used as cute, easy stencils? Sorry for all the questions lately, but I really do apreciate the help!

EDIT: Clip Art is my friend. Still, if you have any better/cuter ones, I'd like to see.

A couple of months ago I picked up a lolita style dress & peticoat from h&m. They are both gorgeous, but they are a skin colour pink, which really dont suit me. I want to dye them black then I can wear them more often. Unfortunately they are made of nylon.Ive bought a sachet of dylons machine dye to do some cotton blouses with, but it says on the pack you can't dye nylon with it.
has anyone ever tried & it worked, or does anyone know something I could use that would dye them? Im not too bothered if they come out a couple of different shades of grey, just as long as they arent pink anymore.

Hey guys I have a question. I'm interested in the Goth Loli Prince style (I've always been a fan of knickers moreso than skirts) and I was wondering if there are any places with reasonable prices and styles like  this?

Thanks. ^_^

So! After getting my hours from work, I figured that today would be a good day to annouce that I'd like to organize a meet-up for those of us in the Long Island area. At this point, the tentative date for this is..

Thursday, 24 August at 12 PM, noon at the Milk and Sugar Café located in Bayshore. Please keep in mind that we'll be getting lunch/bunch, so it would be preferable for you to bring some money. The café's menu can be found here.
Location! )
Please comment on this post so I can give a head's up to the people at the café as to how many people to expect in our group. If anyone wants to bring any kind of has any other suggestions, please feel free to let me know. Both my AIM and MSN user-names are listed in my profile if you need to contact me. Thank-you!

A mild debate has come up in my sewing room. I dyed this vintage lace, to see if it would look good with this plaid fabric. Look closely and the pink in the fabric matches the lace. Now..my question is.
1.Does this look totally horrid? I am iffy on it, if its just right out ugly..please say so.
2. What color shoes and top should I wear if it does?
3. This is un related, but can someone point me to some cream and red( shade of red does not matter) socks or tights? Pattern does not matter just as long as it is those colors

Onto all of that which is plaid and pink lace )

I'm taking a break from sewing and was browsing the fanplusfriend shop when I came across this petticoat that seems to have metal hoopskirt boning in it. Has anyone ever worn or made a pannier like this? I'm curious about what the shape is like compared to the usual cupcakey tulle creations, and how it is when you sit down. I know hoopskirts can be made that will collapse when you go through a doorway or sit, but I don't know how. Anyone here know?

Post pictures of your purses! Your favorite ones or the ones that you use the most! To help me in my search for a lolita purse as I have been searching for a lolita bag for quite a while but still am unable to find one which I like (or I just can't really decide). >.< There seems to be basically two types of lolita purses, the hard material type and the softer ones, like Meta and Btssb totes. Are the totes usually meant for more casual lolita outfits?

I drew a picture for my friend's band, they've got a show coming up so I made a little flyer out of it. It features Baby, the Stars Shine Bright-esque clothing and the ever popular Vivienne Westwood Rocking Horse Ballerinas! Wheee.

Hi everybody!

Okay, me and a couple friends are starting a band. (Yeah, I know, you've heard all this before. XD) I'm not here to plug us, I just have some questions I'd like to ask everybody because I think your opinions are important.

Right now we have three, perhaps four, band members, and we're working desperately on our image. Our keyboardist is a hardcore Dandy, and would like to be that way on stage. I'm a guitarist, and I'm Classic Loli, although I'd love to try some traditional Victorian clothing onstage. (With some modifications, of course, for flexibility.) Our other guitar player is a fan of Dandy as well, and our final member (another keyboardist) wants to be what she affectionately terms "pirate Dandy," as in Dandy with a 18th century look.

Now, my concerns.

1. Are we going to look like a complete and total rip-off of Malice Mizer with a Lolita (me) on guitar?

2. How do we make our three Dandies look different enough from each other so that we all stand out? If you think it's a bad idea, what do you suggest for one of our Dandies to make them still fit in with the Victorian-type image, but not blend in so much?

3. Will one Classic Lolita look okay with three Dandies?

4. Anything else I've overlooked?

Thanks for your help, everybody.

Hey all!

Just wanted to share some pics from our little picnic on Saturday. It was a lot of fun, and we've coined a new term: NY Lolita Time. Basically, NY loli's will almost always arrive 30-60 minutes late for a meet-up, thus never actually being late for each other XD

But, we had a LOT of food, including yummy egg salad finger sandwiches, smoked salmon and cilantro butter finger sandwiches, cucumber and dill butter finger sandwiches, apricot cookies, other cookies of a variety I can't remember now, and a crumb cake. Needless to say, I had a lot of good leftovers for home!

After we ate, we had a little impromptu photoshoot at the very tip of the park where the lighthouse was situated. I love this park so much! In spite of it being a cloudy day, I think we got some very nice pictures. Check them out!

Loli's on a bus! )

We also got many compliments from the 'islanders', who seemed to really like our style. Since the one train on the island wasn't going back to Queens, [livejournal.com profile] schwarzbrille and I decided to walk back to Queens via a small connecting bridge. Once on the other side, there were two old Italian guys sitting on a stoop smoking cigars, and they said to us, "That's it! That's how young ladies should dress! They got the right idea!" and then wished us a good night. I was rather surprised by it actually, old Italian guys are usually the most vocal about 'against the norm' fashions ::thinks back to the older males in her own family and neighbors::, so, even if a bit mysoginist, I was still pleasantly surprised by their compliments.

Well anyway, thanks for looking!

As I am just beginning purchasing my first dress is very exciting. I'm far too poor for the name brands, so I'm having it custom made. I attached a picture of what it'll look like. I was looking for something black and white because I always thought black and white was very beautiful, clean and elegant.

My apologies for the glaring watermark. It's the store's image. >.<;

Hey guys! Okay this may be a really strange post but heres the thing --- I've really been longing to make a really killer lolita clothing since I joined this livejournal group but the people I sell to on ebay arn't really into the fashion. I would *LOVEEE* to take on a Loli project or two for you lovellies! So if any of you are looking for a comission to be taken care of, please let me in on it! I don't know if any of you have seen the clothes I make on ebay (if you havn't, check it out so you know i know how to use a sewing machine. lol! BeccaVicious)

Kay, I think thats all! And like I said, I've really been wanting to make some loli stuff for someone, so I'll give you a really reasonable price for letting me try my hand at it ^-^!

I was talking to a friend about my mad search for shoes this weekend, which ended in a bust, so she directed me to fluevog's website.

There are a few "meh" shoe designs, but some have me squeeing insanely and wishing for and extra $200. This is definitely not the site for someone with limited funds, but I highly recommend the browse through.

So here's what happened today:
I have a Méta parasol, the poodle one from this year, and I used it today because it was raining. But at some point, the wind was so strong that one of the metal bar bended, and a lot... it is still usable, but I'm a bit disappointed too, because it is rather noticeable.
So, my question: Considering that Baby/Innocent World/Angelic Pretty parasols are pricier, are they more sturdy? Because I might as well pay more next time and get a better one >.>
