Stripey Stretchy Fabric?
Aug. 20th, 2006 12:48 amOkay so I'm looking for a pinkxwhite stripe stretchy fabric like seen in this MAM top: http://www.maxicimam.com/_mam/8C2001.html but I'm having pretty much no luck. I checked ebay, but I can only seem to find fabrics that I don't think are quite what I'm looking for - I envision it being more like a soft jersey or cotton/poly/spandex? knit. I did find one place that specializes in stretchy fabrics but a) they want you to buy in bulk of 25yds or more and b) I can't quite envision what each of their types of fabric are like to the touch. I feel like I've maxed out google so I was wondering if any of you seamstresses out there have links stashed away to good fabric places (^^) I'll probably go check out my local JoAnn's soon, but in the past I've had little luck finding any fabric like that at all even in solid colors (-_-).
Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

Date: 2006-08-20 05:12 am (UTC)Cotton doesn't have a ton of stretch, but it does have enough to suit that top.
I'd just look for 100% cotton fabrics like they use for t-shirts. You can find some which are very soft to the touch (I have a tshirt like that). ^^

It's the only place I've had luck finding stretchy jersey stripes.
They're very nice to deal with as well, and they have an ebay store.
