Hi! I'm fairly new to lolita and although I've done a fair amount of research, I have a couple of questions, mainly about people's experiences and opinions!

As a last resort, I've decided to post here in hopes that someone can help, since my literacy in written/reading Chinese is terrible, but my spoken Chinese is fluent.
(I've also checked the master list of communities, one is dead the other is not found at all, maybe, deleted?)

I'll be in Taiwan (Taipei & Kaohsiung) from July 31 - July 2nd and would like to meet up with the lolita community there because it's pretty terrifying to wear lolita in Taiwan alone :( ... and maybe even go shopping with?

If anyone has links to facebook groups / weibo / LINE groups that would be great too! ;_;

Thanks for the help! m(_ _)m

(Also, I'm sorry if I mis-tagged anything >_</")

So, I've loved lolita fashion for years now, but had distanced myself from it because I'm a boy and I wouldn't be able to do it myself.
Likewise, I've loved drag for years and have wanted to become a queen myself, but I also distanced myself from that - having no idea where to start with my aesthetic or fashions.

Because I got into these things very separately, the concept of combining them has only occurred to me very recently.
I would like to start as a drag queen and base my style and aesthetic around lolita fashion, and would also want to stay true to the principles of lolita and respectful of it as a fashion.

I just wanted to know if the lolita community would have any thoughts on this, concerns, tips, pointers, etc.
Thank you.

Hi, I'm looking for information about a brand called Visible, in kana ヴィジブル
I'm particulary interested in the kind of fabric they use as i found a second hand jacket i might be interested in, but there's no info about the material and i really need something heavy for next winter.

I know it's not a popular brand, but if you own any of their outwear, pleeease help : D

Thank you in advance!

So I acquired this skirt from a comm member a while back. She said it was around 76cm and I was hypomanic and believed that I could lose the weight to fit it if I just adhered to my balanced diet and exercise routine I've been trying to keep up with. (I'm 85cm now and like 20lbs overweight) but it's actually more close to 66~cm

So here is the skirt.

As you can see it has/is

•Black with white lace
•Scalloped
•side zipper with button closure
•lining
•BtSSB
•Detachable waist ties with white lace on the ends.

Does anyone know which skirt this is? Year? Actual sizing?

If you do I'd be much appreciative.

Ok. It is more a idea. There is prober guides to a lot of substyles, but some styles seems mising or simply out of date. The Classic style has changed a lot since fYeah Lolita Blog's guide to starting a lolita wardrobe, while sweet is more himeish than ever. And Boystyle/Ouji is not longer about wearing long white bloomers to your white blouse.
Some styles I never seen any prober guide to:

Which substyle would you change to?

If I should choose another style than classic, I would choose punk. I can still wear regimental stripes, I still can wear plaids, and I can even wear more plaids. But I think a pure punk lolita wardrobe is kind of a expert move. So I would choose to combine with a gothic mainpiece or two. Read the rest )

First of all let me say I've always loved what I think is the Gothic Lolita look. Again I said what I think it is. I'm a Brolita looking to start a Gothic Lolita look. I know these are from a "scam" site, but I was wondering three things A) would this outfit be considered a Gothic Lolita look, and B) is there anywhere else I could find the same if not similar items. C) if these are considered Gothic Lolita, could you recommend a wig, hair accessories, tights, and maybe gloves.

Thanks

Does anyone know when Pumpkin Cat's Taobao is coming back online? From what I can tell they're just doing an inventory clean out but because their shop's notice is in an image I can't use Google to translate it :( They're my absolute favourite Taobao shop and I just got a new dress so I'd love to see if they have any good accessories!

Okay, weird question.  Would anyone mind telling me about linings in brand dresses/skirts?  Are they usually fully lined?  How do they line a gathered skirt?  Pictures would be greatly appreciated (as most stock photos don't include pictures of the inside of the dress).

Back in March, it was revealed that Gothic Lolita Wigs (and their sister brands Rockstar Wigs, Cosplay Wigs, Dolluxe and Dollite) were accused of being racist towards African-Americans. On top of featuring their Jezebel wigs in a photoshoot featuring RuPaul's Drag Race contestant Coco drinking Arizona Tea and eating watermelons (not to mention how "Jezebel" was a 19th century term for a "loose woman"), they've also lightened models' skin tones to be more "doll-like" and even created Dollite.com to feature the same wigs on black women.

People have also said that the wigs have gone down the toilet in terms of quality, frizzing and tangling easily for something that could cost upwards of $70 USD. Not to mention shoddy customer service and allegations that they've pilfered ideas and designs from MintyMix.

Well Dollite.com no longer exists and when I typed in the web address, it just ported me straight to GLW (which is now apparently under the Dolluxe name). The Jezebel series is nowhere to be found and there's also a few new wig collections available for purchase (I have to admit, I kind of like the Hologram 12" and 22" series...)

Still, it makes me wonder if they truly have redeemed themselves or if one should still avoid them like the plague. Has anyone purchased stuff from them or interacted with them in any way, shape or form?

Hi,

Just wondering...If an item is sold out on the official websites, could I still find it in the physical stores in Japan?

Thanks :)

I've only seen this bag in this picture I saw on a lolita fashion tumblr blog. I love the bag concept, but I haven't seen it anywhere, but this pick. Has anyone seen it before or know where it comes from?

Hello!

This is my first time posting again since I left the community around 2005-2006. It's nostalgic to be back!

I'm wondering if anybody can help me identify a dress. I haven't been able to find the name or which year this dress is from. I have seen one other person with pictures of this dress but it was also pictures to sell and not store pictures and I cannot find the post any more. I'd lik

I placed pictures of the dress front and back below. Hopefully someone can help me!

Hello! I'm looking for some help identifying this set that I stumbled across that someone is selling. It looks pretty neat so I want to buy it. I've looked on LoliLibrary and the Interwebs but haven't found much information on the item itself. So, any info on it would be amazing. Thanks for the help! :}

Hello! I just purchased this OP in emerald green (but it's actually blue, alright ok). I have only seen the stock photos and one (blurry) scan of Midori and another model.

Does anyone have any photos of their coordinates or of it worn? It is a fairly recent release but my fingers are crossed! Thank you!!

Hello lolis!
I recently fell in love with an up and coming print from this brand, but I can't find a guide or review for them :/
I also don't see anything about over seas buyers. Does anyone know if I can buy directly or do I need a shopping service?
Any other info would be great, thanks everyone!
[identity profile] mopsycottontail.livejournal.com
Hello!

So I have a question... how do YOU plan out your wardrobe?
Do you have an excel spreadsheet with separate tabs for each brand?
Do you just buy whenever you find something you like?
Or do you draw your plan out on the back of a pop quiz? (⌒_⌒;)

Also, opinions on Lolibrary's My Closet and My Wishlist features???
Are there any other "wardrobe builder" websites for lolita that you like?

The other night, while looking for some cute black dresses, I impulse bought Btssb's waffle snow dot jsk in pink. I'm sure I'll love it when it arrives, but right now, I'm kind of concerned given I have nooooo idea what to do with it. I'm also very new in my lolita journey, and therefore, barely have anything else to draw from.

Some thoughts / concerns of mine (and things I could use help with):

My friends always seem to have the best luck! First my friend Rosie finds an IW blouse in a goodwill, and now my friend Megan finds an AP JSK with matching headwear. She messaged me with a photo of an Angelic Pretty JSK she just found in a thrift-store and bought this afternoon. I can tell it's an older piece, but for the life of me, I can't find out what it is. Would someone be willing to help me identify her lucky prize?
