Hi! I'm fairly new to lolita and although I've done a fair amount of research, I have a couple of questions, mainly about people's experiences and opinions!

As a last resort, I've decided to post here in hopes that someone can help, since my literacy in written/reading Chinese is terrible, but my spoken Chinese is fluent.
(I've also checked the master list of communities, one is dead the other is not found at all, maybe, deleted?)

I'll be in Taiwan (Taipei & Kaohsiung) from July 31 - July 2nd and would like to meet up with the lolita community there because it's pretty terrifying to wear lolita in Taiwan alone :( ... and maybe even go shopping with?

If anyone has links to facebook groups / weibo / LINE groups that would be great too! ;_;

Thanks for the help! m(_ _)m

(Also, I'm sorry if I mis-tagged anything >_</")

So, I've loved lolita fashion for years now, but had distanced myself from it because I'm a boy and I wouldn't be able to do it myself.
Likewise, I've loved drag for years and have wanted to become a queen myself, but I also distanced myself from that - having no idea where to start with my aesthetic or fashions.

Because I got into these things very separately, the concept of combining them has only occurred to me very recently.
I would like to start as a drag queen and base my style and aesthetic around lolita fashion, and would also want to stay true to the principles of lolita and respectful of it as a fashion.

I just wanted to know if the lolita community would have any thoughts on this, concerns, tips, pointers, etc.
Thank you.

Ok. I am bit conflicted feelings about it. I am madly love with the folkloral flower print. But I don't want the drindl look. Any ideas? I thought about another style blouse(high neck), but I am pretty empty for headwear. I love the triangle old school headwear(since retangle does not suit me), but it just thickens the drindl look.
It is a high waisted corset skirt.See pictures... )

Hello friends!! I am extremely new to this community but I figured that this would be one of the best places to ask my question (so I could get different responses and opinions!) I just came back from Japan a few months ago with a brand new Angelic Pretty Melty Sky OP (in dark blue <3)

Anyways, I was wearing it out a few days ago and I believe some water may have dripped onto the print. I can see the spot on the print (although most say it's barely noticeable... I still want to clean it if I can!!) Does anyone have any advice on how to clean this print? I believe it's all 100% polyester. It's just making me absolutely sick to know that it got a small stain on it!

Any advice would be great, thanks so much!! Also please feel free to ask more questions if I didn't cover enough details about the dress (I probably didn't :'D)

Hello!
I'll be attending my very first large-scale Lolita event in December, and planning my coord is making me quite nervous, so I would be really grateful for any advice from other Lolitas.

Hello everyone! I've been wearing lolita for the past 2.5 years or so, but I've never joined a comm or really talked to anybody in the community. Only in the past month or so have I started participating in the online community more. (egl and reddit)

I wear lolita every day to school, and since I don't have any lolitas in my area to ask for con/crit, I thought it would be a good idea to ask for coord advice before the new year starts up again.

Any and all criticism and/or suggestions are super welcome!

So I bought these shoes a while back and the first time I decided to wear them clever old me tripped up and completely scuffed them! I have a con coming up that I want to wear them to and they are not cheap to replace. I have cleaned them up the best I can and left shoe is about as good as its going to be considreing its injury, but sadly the right shoe is still in a pretty bad state, I have read that wax crayons can help fill the gaps in, but this was to no avail.

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of how I could possibly salavge them, or at least make them look half-decent again! I realise they are in a pretty bad state but I do really want to wear them again!

One thing I wish I knew back then was: Yes, you can mix & match themes. If it only bag/shoes, you have, you don't have to leave the house on bare feet or without a bag, but I was told by rather strict lolitas I couldn't. Especially it is relevant to heart shaped bag, because at least by my opinion is pretty much the ultimative lolita bag, regardless of styles.

Ever since I was scared away from print with more complicated themes...

First of all let me say I've always loved what I think is the Gothic Lolita look. Again I said what I think it is. I'm a Brolita looking to start a Gothic Lolita look. I know these are from a "scam" site, but I was wondering three things A) would this outfit be considered a Gothic Lolita look, and B) is there anywhere else I could find the same if not similar items. C) if these are considered Gothic Lolita, could you recommend a wig, hair accessories, tights, and maybe gloves.

Thanks

Hello again! Newbie lolita here in desperate help as I'm struggling to create a coord for Angelic Pretty's Dolly Cat Special Set. Deciding what colors to use has me a bit stumped.

I own a pink blouse and I'm thinking that it will be okay to wear. Currently, I only own purple shoes. Would that color be too much or not even match? There's small hints of purple, but I don't know if it's enough. I'm desperate for coord help and just any advice you can offer me about creating coords honestly. Thank you!!

What with localised lolita fashion such as Wa lolita for Japan and Qi Lolita for China, I suddenly had the urge to make my own designs of localised lolita fashion for the Philippines. I was very disappointed and frustrated that the only brand that makes lolita clothing there happen to be DollDelight which aesthetically I find personally unappealing since I'm not into punk(?) lolita. I thought it was a shame that nobody had tried to incorporate filipiniana and Maria Clara into Lolita fashion, which are quite European in aesthetics in themselves but also quite unique to the country.

So I thought to myself to come to the EGL community for your expertise and feedback with regards to the designs I made. I just want to gauge whether people actually like the idea of a Filipiniana type lolita fashion:

I'm fairly new to lolita and want to finally get a coord together, but I'm still really struggling with telling whether or not a dress needs an A-line or bell shape petticoat. I know that some people recommend drawing lines to better see the shape, but I'm still struggling. Any tips? Also, what type of petticoat would you recommend for Angelic Pretty's Marine Kingdom JSK? As I own this and desperately want to wear it. Thank you! c: Oh! And any recommendations for a coord would be greatly appreciated too (:

I'm still kind of new to lolita, but I've found some good shops for clothing, but not so many for accessories. Any recommendations? Any favorites you wouldn't mind sharing?

Hey guys, I've got a problem with my order at the moment and I'm not getting any help from Linda about it other than it being delayed for no reason.
Basically I ordered a Sky Blue Cream Cookie Collection OP on July 30th, since it said 2 - 3 months processing time and I got express shipping to Australia which is usually about a weeks time.

I emailed Linda September 24th wondering about when I would get tracking details for my order, knowing it was still a bit early but ordering online makes me frustrated and impatient when I don't have all the details.
She told me that it is still processing and because it is pre-order sometimes they may be delayed, and that it has a very good chance of getting to me before November 21st which is when I plan to wear it to a convention, which I told her.

All was well until October 31st, I messaged her again saying I still had no tracking details and was wondering when it would get here as she asked me to email her if I still hadn't heard anything by November.
She then said that it was still being processed and may not get to me by November 21st, and if I wanted a backup dress instead which I declined because I would have either lost money from choosing a dress of lower value or had to spend more on extra shipping, and I already have my co-ord for this dress that I've been working on all year.

She told me that she will keep an eye out for it but it will most likely get to me by December, which by then I will have no use for until late next year.

I asked her if she could hurry it along since I know I ordered with plenty of time and if she is getting it from taobao then I know it shouldn't take four months to ship it over.

I'm very annoyed since I spent hundreds of dollars this year getting this organized and now all I can do is pray it comes on time.

Anything I could do or ask her to get this hurrying along? I understand she's a middle-man and that if she is reselling there could be things that go wrong but that's what the 2 - 3 months is for.

Okay.  I'm in desperate need of help here.  I ordered a pair of Bodyline shoes recently, and they fit perfectly and I love them dearly.

But... I now have two problems.
First is that they are not at all padded on the inside, and therefore horrible to walk around in for much more than an hour.  Should I add inserts or something?  Or do I just have to break them in?  Or just suck it up (because it's actually not that bad and I could definitely get over it)?

Second is that I scraped the top of the toe part trick-or-treating, and now there's a horrible scuff.  Are there ways to paint over that and is it even worth it (as opposed to just ignoring it)?

Hello lolis!
I recently fell in love with an up and coming print from this brand, but I can't find a guide or review for them :/
I also don't see anything about over seas buyers. Does anyone know if I can buy directly or do I need a shopping service?
Any other info would be great, thanks everyone!

The other night, while looking for some cute black dresses, I impulse bought Btssb's waffle snow dot jsk in pink. I'm sure I'll love it when it arrives, but right now, I'm kind of concerned given I have nooooo idea what to do with it. I'm also very new in my lolita journey, and therefore, barely have anything else to draw from.

Some thoughts / concerns of mine (and things I could use help with):
