A mild debate has come up in my sewing room. I dyed this vintage lace, to see if it would look good with this plaid fabric. Look closely and the pink in the fabric matches the lace. Now..my question is.
1.Does this look totally horrid? I am iffy on it, if its just right out ugly..please say so.
2. What color shoes and top should I wear if it does?
3. This is un related, but can someone point me to some cream and red( shade of red does not matter) socks or tights? Pattern does not matter just as long as it is those colors

Yeah definitely terrible. Looks like something a color blind person might considering matching.

It does kindda work, I just think it would work better with other things.
It'll probably work better with something that has tones closer to the pink.

If the pink bands in the plaid were a little stronger/thicker, I think it would look really great. But with the pink that subtle, it wouldn't look too attractive to anyone standing more than a few inches away, I'm afraid.

It is downright ugly, sorry...

Even the fabric looks like the lining of an olive green hunters bomber jacket.

I agree with the notion that the pink in the fabric is too small to work with the pink lace. The only way I could see this working together is if you did a lot of pink embroidery or screenprinting on the skirt itself, but just by iteself it doesn't work together.

Yikes!

Definitely lose the lace. The fabric could look cute done up with some tan or cream lace in VM style.

While the lace does pick up the color in the plaid, without looking so close the color in the skirt really looks more red. There's a lot going on with this look. I'd pair the lace with a plainer fabric (and in a different color.) But if you've already bonded the two, you could still match a blouse to that. Just include all the colors.

...it might work for the deconstuctionistas like Shrinkle and Limecrime (MAYBE) but for lolita the combination is very gaudy. :/

if the pink on the lace was pale, really pale, i think it could work.

.. It made me cringe. Then i had to squint to see the pink stripe youwere coordinating it with. It's just a lil to vibrant and bold. I support anituque white or tan lace.

that sort of pink is a horrible match to the plaid. black, white, cream, even an incredibly pale pink would be much better.

The plaid might look cute on something, and the pink lace might look cute on something, but together? Not a chance. I'm with the antique white idea, personally, but a very light tan/beige might also work well.

I think that it could work if you had accessories matching that same pink. I'm thinking shoes or boots, mini top hat, some jewlery. It's really funky and not for the faint of heart, but if your personality is a little vibrant and quirky, you could pull it off.

A lighter pink would look nicer I think. As it is, the pink is much too strong and kind of clashes with the rest.
I do like the fabric though, it's very country lolita ^^

Definetly too bright ;;; The lace would probably work cuter on a pale pink cutsew or something but definetly not on that fabric.

I think that could match in a mismatched way, If you know what I mean. There are definately better choices but I think it could look cute.

but thats just coming from someone with a Tank Girl icon. So any fashion advice from me should be kinda ignored. :o
