Recently I have been catching the phrase "loli sleep wear" around the forums. I understand there are loli sleep wears found in the GLBs so they do exist. However, when some people post finds of potential loli-ables for day wear some would say "well be cute as sleep wear." Is that the nice way of saying "cute but not really loli-able for day wear." That is my feeling on the phrase or are lolis really willing to spend $70.00 plus for sleep wear, I would spend maybe $40 max for cute and comfortable set. Personally I would not spend that much on sleeping clothes.

What is your take on loli sleep wear?

Hello, can anyone offer any tips on what lengths petticoats should be compared to your dress?

I noticed some lolitas have their petticoats showing and some that don't.

Is it alright to get a petticoat that's 5-10 cm shorter than your skirt?

Thank you~

Something I've wondered for a bit now that I thought you ladies (and gents!) could help me out with-

Is Lolita a true street fashion? And by that what I'm asking is, did kids in the street either make their own clothes in that style, or pick and choose existing things to create the look with local designers following suit; or did local designers come up with it and the kiddies caught on and followed?

I've seen the Gosurori Timeline site, but I don't find it to be all that thorough, or that it completely answers my question. I may be wrong though, I admit I don't have the link on me anymore.

But what styles were on the street at the time that made the existing labels decide that that was the subgenre they would pursue? Or did it start with Baby (or if it wasn't Baby, please correct me) all the way, and with them dictating the origins of the fashion initially? What was Baby's start-off collection like?

I hope I've made my question and thought process clear enough, it's very early here and I'm still a bit muddled ^^; Thanks in advance! ^_^

Arrrrrrrrrgh

Okay, see, I'm at the moment the epitome of loli on a budget, meaning I can't even afford $30 shoes because of the $10 shipping, unless I go out shopping here in the city (in which case haha, $30 shoes are but a funny dream). What I'm looking for is red shoes—simple red shoes that aren't patent, stiletto'd, peeptoe/open toe, glittery, pointy or squaretoed, or downright ugly. I just browsed through 1400 results on ebay last night to no avail; every shoe I ran across fit at least one of the above adjectives.

See, I do have a pair of red shoes. They were $3 at the discount store down the street, and they're sturdy formed cotton with a nice rubber sole. But the bastards bled all over my only pair of white socks, which I was only just barely able to save (and even so I'm afraid they've been rendered unwearable with open-side shoes), and I should have expected as much from red cotton, but...

So, here's my question(s). Do you know where I could find cheapo red shoes (read: $20 shipped or less) that won't bleed? Or better yet, do you have a solution to my bleeding shoe problem? I mean, would tossing them in the wash do anything?

EDIT: I'm stupid. I forgot to mention two important things: a) I can't do big heels anymore thanks to doctor's orders (or at least I oughn't buy any more), and b) these are for a redxwhite sweet lolita outfit. D:

Parasols

Hello,

Is anyone selling parasols? I'm looking for btssb or meta white parasols in particular.

I would buy one from btssb, but they take too long to order... and I want one in time for the anime expo.

If not, are there sites that sell nice parasols?

Thank you~

I'm not really writing one...more like asking someone to help me...i've always liked loli fasion, but just recently began to experiment and join communities and such...because of that i figured rather than attempting to make sence of things and terms i dont understand, i should ask...so here goes:

I have TONS of projects sitting around the house that I started and never finished, so, since I'm doing the "Get you're life back in order!" bounce-back to life thing I figured I should get started!

First up, my EGL Wedding Headpiece.
I started it 2 years ago and just never finished sewing it together. There are 3 different trims lovingly handsewn to the headpiece(made of high quality white satin). The veil is super-soft tulle in two pieces: one is knee-length and the other is a half-veil(to above breast-line).
It still isn't done, I am leaving how it attaches open for now and if someone buys it, they will have the choice of how they want it secured(most likely white ribbon). I am thinking of finishing the edges of the veil with some pearlized beading, it'll add some weight and a 'finished' look.

If anyone is interested in it, go ahead and make me an offer! ^.^

Holding it on my head... )

Please, Lolita Gods, do not black list me for what i am about to do!
I am only a Newbie Lolita, and this is only my first time, so please be gentle with me!
What ever you commandeth I shall do, my great lord (and ladies)
I tried with all my heart,
now I open it to you,
please do not break it...

Alright this is a strange question and kinda off topic, (sorry if it is) but I have to create a superhero for my honors english class, and of course she is a lolita. She is a sweet lolita so she is not suppose to attack anyone (stereo-typical n_n), and she has a Dollfie that is posessed with the evil part of her soul. the Dollfie does the killing. So I was wondering if anyone had any interesting ideas for her doll's weapons, things that could be disguised for EGL/Ama lolita things. Thanks this will help ALOT!

Hi everyone!

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me the search term for Double Decker Rocking Horse shoes on Yahoo Japan? Or do they have no resale market over there?

I've searched double decker in English, and found some pretty fun filing cabinets and bus trinkets. I've searched for rocking horse shoes in Japanese too, am I missing some sort of lingo or something?

Thanks so much, I've just received my own DD's and I just think they're fun. Hopefully I can get some more..!

Somebody knows the Internet-shops with an opportunity of a cash on delivery and abroad? (I live in Russia, but very much it would be desirable to buy things abroad)

I've posted this a while back already but you never know. I'm looking for this meta dress in this color or any other. Actually i might be interested in any meta dress that's that style/shape. I want something affordable. Meaning not a lot more than what it costed on the meta sales page. I can go up to 100 euros with shipping if the dress is worth it.
I live in Europe and can pay via paypal.

Thank you. ^_^;

Oh. Cheescake. For the love. Of.
I need a dress.
I am graduating in exactly 21 days and I have no dress.
WHY would I be a stupid idiotic fool and wait till now you ask? I was NOT planning on GOING to grad. But. My friends. The peer pressure. In shame I admit, I succumbed. I am being forced to go. Which means. I need. A dress.
Anyone selling anything, and can ship to Canada, and can have said outfit arrive in time? Ill need it by the 22nd.
PLEASE. HELP ME.

What am I looking for?
Im looking for something unique, original, something that WONT look like every single other dress there. Im thinking something punky and gothy. EGA or EGL. Maybe a dash of Medieval style, You know. Amy Brown kind of thing. Only less slutty. It needs to be something pretty fancy, too, because I daily wear gothy punky dresses, so just throwing a dress on wont make me fancy, to dress up it has to be something obviously made for a very special occasion.
*dies*

Size... Im fairly small... everywhere. Short, small waist, small breasts, ect. So.. yeah, really smallness. But not to the tiny extent. Just a little bit smaller then average.

Yeh. I realize I am probably fighting a loosing battle. Im probably going to end up going in something average, run of the mill, looking like every other girl there -_-
(as long as my date can make it I think Ill survive, but still. I need a dress that stands out and fully expresses my fashion sence.)
Aaaanyways I thought Id ask around.
If you can help. Ill love you forever.

wig colors?

Jun. 8th, 2006 09:31 pm
[identity profile] aimeekitty.livejournal.com
Do you like mixed color wigs (like say a blond with lighter blonde highlights, or a mixed brown wig) or do you prefer solid color wigs?

most popular brand lolita wigs are solid color (like La Croix Noire was...) but sometimes mixed colors can look more natural or more interesting.

what do you think?

Does anyone have a larger image of this BTSSB red-checked dress?

I specifically mean the DRAWING, but photos of the dress would be ok (I already have the photos from GLB 4...)

I'm taking a break from a long evening of sewing what I will be nick-naming The 3-Tiered Skirt of Doom in order to bring you all this photo post :)

Yes, your two favorite friends, P-Chan and K-Chan have been out on the town in lolita style again. This time, we went out for a sushi buffet :)

After reading through cherrytop's post on weather she was getting to old for lolita, I was wondering what all your views are on the subject.

Is there such a thing as a lolita age limit, or is it appropriate for any age?

Does this just apply to certain styles like sweet, gothic, or elegant?

For me personally, I can't imagine myself as an old white haired granny still trying to pull off sweet lolita. While I could see more elegant or aristocratic styles stlyes being worn at any age.

Just Curious, thanks.

I just turned 22 and graduated from college. I'm about to start a full time job with the JET program. I've seen lolitas posting on this board who are nearly ten years younger than me. Power to them, but it makes me feel old. Which makes me wonder when am I too old to do Lolita?
I really like the fashion, I want to continue dressing in it, and I don't need to necessarily always adhere to the rules of what would be a completely ideal Lolita, but I could use some encouragement from some other "older" Lolitas.
