Hello, I am very new to Livejournal, and the community, so I hope I don't step on any toes! I have a few questions related to a skirt I'm sewing for Easter, and GLB patterns in general.
Any help is appreciated! )

So if you are interested in sewing your own lolita clothes and can't get a hold of the GLB you want, there is a relatively new mook that is exclusively patterns that are suitable for lolita and otome styles. The mook is titled 乙女のソ-イング/Otome no Sewing/Sewing Book of Girls. These can be purchase on YesAsia, Kinokuniya (got mine in store for about $19 a pop), as well as Amazon.jp and this etsy shop that has been recommended.
Since I personally like to know what patterns are included in such mooks, I figured others would like to know too!

Hello! I have a question about the Gosurori MOOKs. Do all of them have patterns? And is there anywhere I can find out what patterns are in each MOOK? Thank you so much in advance! Have an awesome day~~

So recently I've noticed certain accessories becoming very popular, namely echarpes (sashes). I wanted to try a craft project to make one so that, when I figured it out, I could make a helpful tutorial for the community. I ordered the GLB with the echarpe pattern and figured it would be pretty straightforward. However I've encountered a problem. I understand what to do with the majority of the pattern pieces but there are random pieces that I have no idea what to do with.

So, instead of muddling through it on my own and probably messing it all up, I decided to post here with the hopes that a fluent fellow lolita would be able to help me. I have two short pattern descriptions from the GLB that I need help with: one is for the echarpe and the other is for a simple headbow (which sounds pathetic but I swear this thing has a random extra piece). I would need all the text associated with each pattern translated for me.

Hopefully in a few weeks I'll be able to post the tutorial with your help!

Hello all :-)

I am in Toyko right now and will stay for another 5 days. I really want to look for the last 2 or 3 Gosu rori magazines but I don't know where to go. These will be most likely found in second hand book stores I guess?

Does one of you know where I could possibly find them here in this crazy town ;-)

Uhh hey I just wanted to double check something.
I was talking to a girl yesterday and she said she had Angelic Pretty bloomer patterns. I'm a little confused. Where can you get AP patterns? O_o"
but what confused me most is that i don't even use a pattern to make my bloomers...
perhaps i should just ask her for the source later :)

Has anyone made, or seen the katjusha burda pattern? www.burdastyle.com/projects/katjusha Do you think that with some alterations, or perhaps even no alterations at all, it would be a feasible pattern for a lolita dress?

Heya all.

I'm still rather new to the whole Gothic Lolita style, and I have a few items. However I am reaaaally broke at the moment and wish to give it a go sewing some of my own things. I know how to use a sewing machine and have made a few small things, but never anything such as clothing. Can anyone please help me with a relativly easy tutorial or point me in the right direction?

Thank you

This will be cross posted to the [livejournal.com profile] sew_loli community.  Later, I will do one on scaling up patterns from books and the internets.

Are you not satisfied with the loli-able pattern options available at your local fabric store?  Well, there are a lot of other options out there, many of which may wok out better for you.  I will say that most of my background is in period costuming, so much of this will pertain to loli-able historic patterns.  Hopefully, y'all will still find this information useful.

First time post, hope it's okay.

I noticed a lot of posts about finding patterns; I know it's hard to find decent lolita-esque patterns in English, and I thought I'd try helping out. I only have two at the moment, but that's better than nothing, right? And maybe looking at my mistakes will stop one of you from making the same one!

So there you go. I hope this was able to help!

Hello!

Although I hate to request on my first post, I was wondering if anyone can help me on a few things. Firstly, I'm planning on sewing a bonnet and would love it if anyone can post some pictures of lolita bonnets, particularly those being worn, or even patterns of some. Secondly, I'm also planning on making this dress however it would be the first time I've tackled collars so it would be wonderful if anyone could also draw me a pattern draft of what the collar should look like or point me to some patterns online (all the GLB/GosuRori scans I have don't seem to have one to my liking). Tips would also be greatly appreciated!

Thank you very much! <3

EDIT: To make this post a bit more worthwhile, I took some crap pictures of the latest dress I've made! Sorry, but I only have a camera phone XD;; And yes, they're this small.

Last night at work, we received a lot of new Simplicity patterns. The good news is, the famous Loli Dress pattern is back in print. The rest we received were a little like Leg Avenue's costumes, but some of them can work out for dresses and corset overskirts-
One with Alice and a girl-type Mad Hatter
Overskirts galore

And for fun, I found this one with a lot of creepy, "Dance of the Vampires"-like EGA gowns.

Bonsoir, Mes Chéris!

Merci beaucoup to those lovely folks who pointed me in the direction of some patterns. I still have not found the right pattern for a coat (I'm not a huge fan of the Vogue one), but I did find a ton of other loliable pretties! So here you are and hope it helps!
