I talked my husband into allowing me to spend about 200 on a lolita outfit. However I'm a size 16. I was wondering if any of you very talented seamstress's could do something within that budget if I provided the materials? I live in the US, Michigan specifically. I like wa-loli, gothic lolita, and aristrocratic fashions. Please let me know if we can work together.

I know this question might be slightly off-topic, but I know a lot of you lolis like non-loli brand clothing, so I thought you might be able to help me nonetheless...

I'm going to Japan in about a month and a half, and lately I've really been into gouK--you know, h.NAOTO's sister brand which is more "chinese-influence" style clothing. I want to pick up some really nice pieces, but I'd prefer to buy second-hand, since their line is just as expensive as h.NAOTO. I know that Closet Child occasionally has a gouK piece or two, but I've never seen any real selection there--certainly nothing compared to the range of h.NAOTO clothes they tend to carry.

So my question--do any of you know other second-hand clothing stores that might carry gouK more frequently? I've checked the memories, but all I find are the loli specific stores--CC, brandx, etc all of which I've been to.

Thanks! And sorry for the OT.

I present to all those who have never heard of this, the Biltmore Estate. This home which is located in Ashville, North Carolina was the number one destination when my family and I stayed there for a week.

The Biltmore Estate was 125,000 acres of forest, fields and land but after the death of mister George Washington Vanderbulit (The master of the house) his wife sold much of it to the government and it now stands at 8,000 acres of land.

On the remaining 8,000 acres, one will find a winery and vinyard where Mr. Vanderbilt brewed and sold his own wine, a stable or two (One of the stables, the main stable where riding horses, show horses and such were keapt. That stable has been transformed into a resturaunt where famalies are actually seated in booths that have been placed in the individual stalls. The other stable stands a mile or so from the house and was used for working horses).  One will also find a rose garden, a green house, a fish pond, and the most lavish house ever seen by human eyes. The home itself is what I think everyone in this community should take a trip to see and bring a cell phone with a camera. No photography is allowed inside but don't think I let that rule apply to me.

(Sort of image heavy... well 10 pictures isn't bad at all.)

Perfume

I was in myer today looking through all the perfume and I came across this cute little bottle collection of three sort of apple shape but more round, then I saw the name, (something) Lolita! I was thinking "Cool" and went ahead and tried it on a sample card. I tried all three of them and found that the third on that I tried was the most decent one, but still wasn't my kind of smell. It was nasty. Has anyone else seen/smelt this?

Sorry if anyone has/wears this. I don't mean to offend.

I've Really been trying to research lolita (instead of just looking at pictures and basing a dress off that).. and I've found quite a few things.

However, I'm not to good at deciding, and while I LOVE the two dresses I've made for myself..

So, if at all possible.. could someone help me to 'catagorize' my dresses? I know it's not important.. or well, some peope say. It's just something I want to know, since I'm trying to learn.

more spcifically.. does the outfit seem to be.. more cosplay?

Thank you so much for your time and help! ^^

Guys! I'm having a crisis!

I made a rather rash and hasty buying decision and ordered this jumperskirt in blue from the BTSSB site. Now, I'm a fatty, and as we all well know fatty + shirring= ultimate sadness. (I'm not trying to be inflammatory nor self-deprecatory, just stating some facts, so bear with me.)

Here is how I look in lolita clothes that fit me relatively well )

So I have a couple questions.
1. I'm asking this point blank: Am I going to kill this dress? *A* You can say, "Yes, you're gonna kill this dress" and I won't consider it trolling. The mods might, but I am READY FOR TRUTH.
2. Will wearing a blouse that fits me well under it prevent me from killing this dress? Or wearing a blouse over it and wearing it like a skirt since I bought it for the print, anyway?

Maybe you can't really tell until I receive it and show you what I look like in it, but if you guys can already tell that there's no way I could wear this JSK or save it by wearing a blouse, I might as well start doing pre-orders for it. x.x

What I really want to know, I guess, is if a blouse will prevent the double-boobage (I'm only a b cup, anyhow x.x) and "Aghhhh dress is dead!" look.

Thanks!

Since my sale hasn't been so successful, I've lowered the price of the Three Step Gothic Frill Bodyline Dress. I'm wanting to use the money to buy myself a jumper, but since I'm not even over 18, I don't have a job (but will be getting one) and I don't have any other loli clothes other than this dress. So if you can help a fellow loli ^^

I am trying to lose some weight in order to fit in most BTSSB jumpers, most of which can fit up to a 28 inch waist. Right now I am 30", but I would really like a short term solution until I lose some inches (and because, well, bloating always does some unkind things to me). A friend suggested to get a waist cincher. Does anyone here use one to fit into egl clothes? What type do you use, the cheap-o nylon ones, or the corset types? How does sizing work? Or, does anyone else have a quick fix for losing waist inches? It's a very pesky thing, being on the borderline of fitting a dress and not. Thanks for any help in advance.
