Where to buy gouK?
May. 13th, 2006 11:28 amI know this question might be slightly off-topic, but I know a lot of you lolis like non-loli brand clothing, so I thought you might be able to help me nonetheless...
I'm going to Japan in about a month and a half, and lately I've really been into gouK--you know, h.NAOTO's sister brand which is more "chinese-influence" style clothing. I want to pick up some really nice pieces, but I'd prefer to buy second-hand, since their line is just as expensive as h.NAOTO. I know that Closet Child occasionally has a gouK piece or two, but I've never seen any real selection there--certainly nothing compared to the range of h.NAOTO clothes they tend to carry.
So my question--do any of you know other second-hand clothing stores that might carry gouK more frequently? I've checked the memories, but all I find are the loli specific stores--CC, brandx, etc all of which I've been to.
Thanks! And sorry for the OT.

Date: 2006-05-13 04:13 pm (UTC)Unlike "gothic lolita/band-kei brands", it's hard to find specific brands in a 2nd hand shop.. you have to browse through the insane number of second hand shops and hope for the best, or befriend a shop staff and have them drop you an email or something when the item comes in.
When we look for specific brands, we usually go to online free markets... and sometimes auctions
On the other hand, if you are going to be in Japan in "about a month and a half", it would be sales season so you'll probably get at least a 30~50% deal even in offi stores. Also, if you like gouk's design, you'll probably find similar (& cheaper) items in casual brands... I would personally reccomend JAME's jpns line :D (though I don't know if they still continue it this year) Cheap etc shops like Daichuu also have a lot of gouk-ish items for much much much less.
..hopefully this helped somewhat ^^;

the closet child in Shinjuku would be #1. they have a rack and thensome of h.
And I believe they just expanded.
Ikebukuro also has some good selection, but the one in Harajuku is just...ug.
You can always try the used shoppes on Takeshita. You just have to hunt for them :B

Date: 2006-05-13 05:41 pm (UTC)A rack and thensome, really? I used to go to CC all the time when I was in Tokyo a couple years back--they always had a ton of h.NAOTO but I never noticed much gouK. Still, the impression I'm getting is that CC is still my best bet.
So thanks!
I agree about the Harajuku CC btw. Shinjuku & Ike were always much better IMHO, or even brandX in Harajuku.

Date: 2006-05-14 05:02 am (UTC)Osaka has some really neat shoppes as well ^_^
as does Sendai <3
They had tonnes of h. I'm not sure how much gouk they had, but it's always kinda like a treasure hunt >B *is lame*
I can't stand the lighting at CC in shinjuku and harajuku. Seems like the only one with nice, NON-mood lighting (so as to SEE the clothes) is in ikebukuro xD

Thanks for suggestion&I hope you'll find lots of Gouk stuff... I hope to find some myself, though my chances are uhm. very slim >.>; Gouk is pretty awesome, especially those halter tops~
