CALLING ALL ARTISTS & POLL
Feb. 8th, 2006 12:35 pmHi everyone! As the title of this posts says, I'm looking for artists to contribute some artwork to be used in a future
egl layout. You will be credited of course ;)
I will be making a collection of layouts to be possibly used for
egl, which is where you all come in:
So, what kind of artwork am I looking for?
• Obviously it needs to be related to the lolita fashion in some way. Gothic, Sweet, whatever you've got, I'll take.
• Colored, or strong digitial inking (ie, line art- will be colored in by me, so please give permission or let me know if that's not ok).
• Backgrounds ok, but will most likely be removed/replaced to fit with layout.
• Style is open. Medium is limited to digital and traditional artwork. Photography is a no.
• Please send highest dpi/resolution you have~
Please send your contributions (either as attachments or a link to artworks), along with your LiveJournal user name, and a link to your website/DeviantART/etc (if applicable) to goth.lolita@gmail.com (that's me!) with "EGL Artwork" or some varient in the subject bar. I will send you a reply letting you know that I recieved your email~
Also on the note of layout changing... Please take a moment to fill out our poll:
[Poll #669204]
Thank you ^__^ If you have any questions, feel free to ask~

Feb. 8th, 2006 05:22 pmI'm getting ready to sew a a dress from mook 6, and I need to know something. If you have a skirt or a dress that pulls up in the back to gather at the waist, what do you make for the under layer? I'm thinking somekind of cotton petticoat with rows of ruffles, is there a name for this item? Does someone sell them for say less than 40$ us? Any information would be useful, including links to patterns, or tutorials on making such an item. Just for reference for those who have mook six, it's pattern 11, and it's pictured next to a brown JSK with slightly ruffles strap/sleeves. I'm builing a wardrobe from scratch. Thank you for your time.

Feb. 8th, 2006 09:05 pmHello all. I have a question (as per usual :D). I live in a country where the average temperature is about 30°C (86°F) all year round. While I do like to wear knee-socks with my lolita outfits, it can get rather hot so would it be a terrible sin to go without? As for the upper part of my body, how much skin can I expose without looking too un-loli? I usually wear long-sleevd blouses but this too can get rather hot, especially outside of air-conditioned buildings. The heat is not your friend when it comes to dressing loli. Thank you for your help!

fabric stores in Tokyo?
Feb. 8th, 2006 09:47 pmA little help needed...
A friend of mine is going to Tokyo in a while, and I have asked her to pick up some fabrics for me if possible. I would want things with the more unusual prints - gothic like in h.naoto style, or small cute prints (crowns, hearts, stuff like that). Or something else that looks as if it could fit a lolita dress =) Not too pink preferably...
Does anyone know a store in the Tokyo area? If you have a website, please share the link - she can read japanese although I can't so the language is not an issue ^^ Or, if you have a street adress or such and have visited the store.
The site I'm looking through now is http://store.yahoo.co.jp/yuzawaya but it is a bit difficult to find fabrics... I hope they have better things somewhere =(
thanks in advance!
