A little help needed...

A friend of mine is going to Tokyo in a while, and I have asked her to pick up some fabrics for me if possible. I would want things with the more unusual prints - gothic like in h.naoto style, or small cute prints (crowns, hearts, stuff like that). Or something else that looks as if it could fit a lolita dress =) Not too pink preferably...

Does anyone know a store in the Tokyo area? If you have a website, please share the link - she can read japanese although I can't so the language is not an issue ^^ Or, if you have a street adress or such and have visited the store.

The site I'm looking through now is http://store.yahoo.co.jp/yuzawaya but it is a bit difficult to find fabrics... I hope they have better things somewhere =(

thanks in advance!

i dont have any adresses for you sadly,
but you should consider the possibility that the fabric stores in japan to not carry very intresting fabrics. i hate to dissapoint you but if i take a look at fabric stores nearby my home (in the netherlands) the specialized fabric stores sell mainly VERY EXPENSIVE bridal fabrics and other fabrics that cannot be used in normal clothing except more haute couturish pieces.

unless you know how the population of japan thinks of sewing or whether a large group or only a small group sews their own garments and also the age group taking into consideration i wouldnt get your hopes up to much, then at least it can only get better then that :)

It is possible to buy fabrics similar to baby, I just don't know where. I've seen a few things on Y!J and in my Gosu loli mook, (which has tiny pictures of some fabrics.) But it's very expensive, 1900yen per metre and higher

Japan has amazing fabric stores. Okadaiya is a *perfect* stop over for any sewing lolita. It'd be a crime to go to Japan and NOT go to Okadaiya! They sell specially-for-lolita laces (including the skull lace and flippin' the bird lace) and the special prints used the homemade g&l mooks. They also carry a wide variety of specialty fabrics for cosplayers.

There's 4 pages of info on fabric stores in Gosu Rori 2. 2 of the pages are a map and the other 2 pages are a description of stores.

I could scan it for you in the morning. Would it be possible for your friend to translate or give a summary of what is on the pages? I myself would like to buy fabric too when I visit Japan in the summer.

two places:
OKADAYA (awesome stuff there... AWESOME! :D)

and NIPPORI (it's a stop on the JRYamanote line)
Nippori has a 'textile village' which just means about 2km of FABRIC STORES. I spent a whole day there, and only got through half of it. It's just amazing! :D
