Custom dresses!
Sep. 7th, 2005 04:30 amHi!
I'm new, and I'm looking for online stores that make EGL dresses custom (to my measurements) within probably a month or so? Does anyone have some good links? I found some great ebay people, but some of the dresses I want are going out of auction too soon, and I need a little time to decide. Any help would be great! Thanks!

(I'm sorry if a lot of people ask this question, I'm looking for the best resources possible! :)

Sep. 7th, 2005 11:20 amOk, lots of people have been asking about stenciling, screenprinting, and spraypainting images onto fabrics and stuff, so I figured I'd go and explain them all. First I'll go with stenciling/spraypainting.

Sep. 7th, 2005 01:08 pmFirstly - thank you for all the kind comments on my recent photoshoot (http://www.livejournal.com/community/egl/3426136.html?view=44765272#t44765272)
They really bolstered my confidence that I'm doing the right thing by pursuing EGA rather than EGL as my 'signature' style :)
I've been looking through my Bibles and I plan to go to the local library to find some inspiration on a wider historical context for future outfits. However, I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for EGA clothing and accessories?
I'm trying to put together a burgundy outfit in particular for the Winter Meet in Sheffield I'm running in December. However I'm alittle stumped as to how to make it definitively EGA rather than just gothic/elegant dressing. (I can handsew and deconstruct, but making items from scratch would prove alot more challenging.)
So far all I have is a floor length burgundy satin skirt which could possibly be modded and also a possible burgundy long-sleeved jumper with lace detailing round the collar and a matching strappy top. (sounds wrong lol, but I'm perfectly willing to chop them up.) Sorry for the lack of pictures - I have no camera ;_;
I'm especially interested in ideas for capes, shoes to compliment, head-wear and modifying coats if anyone can suggest anything?

Amusement Parks
Sep. 7th, 2005 02:47 pmHave any of you ever dressed up when going to an amusement park? I'm asking this because I'm going to Six Flags this weekend. I don't think I've ever worn a dress to one before, but I thought it would be the perfect time to dress up. I was worried about if my dress will fly up when I'm on a ride or if I should take off my bow or mini-tophat before I go on.
looking for photos
Sep. 7th, 2005 04:27 pmHello all~ I have a request for photos.. Photos of you wearing our designs! A lot of people buy from us, but I never get to see anyone wearing them afterwards. So if you've bought anything from Your Mother Wouldn't Like It or corresponding ebay auctions (ID rushedblue).. please show me your photos!!
This isn't for any particular reason, and I won't use them anywhere without your permission (although I would like a customer gallery one day!), it's just for my own satisfaction! Please post your pictures here, or if you don't want to put them public, email them to the address on the page.
Thanks!! :D

Hello Dears,
I've been wondering, which independant brand (In the starlight, supert3ch, etc..), has the best quality work?
I'm mostly directing this question at people who have bought items from more than one store (to compare), or are seamstresses themselves.
