I was finally able to get good photo's taken of the lolita dress I wore in the Otakon Fashion Panel.

This dress is deffinatly my favorite one I have made so far. I was really careful about the lace selection and the fabric is just so pretty. I'm not sure if you can tell in the last picture, but the fabric has little victorian girls dancing on it. ^.^

This dress used the same ugly thrift store dress as a pattern that I used for my "Victorian Rose" dress (http://www.deviantart.com/view/11394163/) and also my "Brown Fur" dress (http://www.deviantart.com/view/16869227/). This time I just used to for the top, and drafted a new pattern for the skirt part. Like with the brown fur dress, I squared the neckline and made the back shirred. The puffed sleeves where also a new addition to the pattern, and took several times for me to draft them right.

Wow, that's amazing & you look positively adorable... How much would something in that style cost to commission but with detachable sleeves! Also did you ever receive my reply to your E-Mail?

Gooorgeous, reminds me a lot of Mary Magdalene and Victoria Maiden-esque dresses! I love it. If I ever save up enough money I will beg for a comission. XD

May I just say that you are incredibly blessed with an amazing figure for Lolita. :] You are very slender, which allows you to fit almost all of the Japanese name brands, and then you are a little long and extremely elegant - almost to the point of extravagance. I can tell just from the picture that you have good posture as well (at least when in Loli xD), and the affect is simply gorgeous. You're a very sweet and lovely lady who deserves to be dressed up in such pretty clothes. :]

^_^; That's all.

That is perfect. I love the way that you made the dress, and it looks as if you did in fact get it from Victorian Maiden or one of the big Japanese companies.

That's farking amazing.

Fantastic, as always.. I love the fabric choice. :D

Hope you don't mind me asking, but you did the tutorial for making shoes more lolita-esque, with the floral spray, right? How long has the color lasted?

I saw the other two dresses, they're amazing. You're a very skilled designer/seamstress.
I think I might just email you about a commission.

I love your designs so much! The matching plaid scarf with your winter outfit is so cute ^_^. I remember seeing you at the very end of the lolita tea party, I was the little one in white with the whitexblue BTSSB cut-sew.
Ah! I haven't been able to find rose lace anywhere at all besides cheep-trims (which only lets countries outside the US order with insane next-day shipping that costs basically the same amount as the stuff you order -_-). Makes me wish we had JoAnn's in Canada ^_^;;.

The shurring is fabulous!! You do such good work! I love the skirt idea. I totally would love to talk to you about sewing, as I still have a lot of questions about how to make my own Loli clothes.

I'm in awe! I hope that my waloli outfit turns out even half as good as your dress!

geeky question - did you use elastic thread ofr the ruching onthe back, and if so, did you have to hand-wind the bobbin? i had to when i tried that and boy was it a PAIN :P i'm looking for a better way

Date: 2005-09-08 07:55 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] dymentia.livejournal.com
ahh. yes i usually use channels. but if you want the bobbin trick to work, the best method i've found is hand-winding the elastic onto it and going from there. no fun, but pretty results!
