I just thought I'd announce that I've opened up my webpage shop. I'm selling EGL accessories, costume commission and random Japanese stuff. Proceeds from Beaded crowns go to fund Sweet Tea Events. :D

IWannaBeAPirate.com- Shop!
I'd also appreciate comments for anything you think I should add. ^^

Hello again! Sorry for multiple posts tonight, but I was just wondering if any of you lovely lolitas would be attending Anime USA this year?
If you don't know about it, it's in Tyson's corner, Virginia on Halloween weekend (Oct 29th-31st I believe)
Anyways, I'd love to have a little photoshoot and teaparty if enough people were interested. So let me know!

I'd probably want to have it either Friday evening/night or sometime early-ish on Saturday (say, before 2pm)
I have other non-egl cosplays planned for the rest of the weekend, so that's why those times would be best for me ^_^

I'd be willing to bring cookies and sandwiches and tea and such, but of course the problem would be if no one comes...lol ^_^;;;

well, sorry for the rant...but let me know who's interested! thanks

I am a squirrel, and I have decided to start gathering my acorns before the autumn harvest and the cold winter nights. I cannot wait until the leaves start changing colors and they all fall in death to the ground.
I know that was a bit weird, but it is on topic. I am going to my grandmother's house for labor day (and the following weekend) and both of us are going to sew something. I would like to make a skirt using thick-ish fabric with and old 19th century print (like seen in Victorian Maiden). So here is my question, does anyone out there know of some fabric sites with victorian nature-themed prints? My hair will be blue -I'm going to soon be dying it blue velvet soon over the periwinkle color that it is now- for most of, if nor all of the fall so I would like to try to find something with a blue theme.

Thank you all and sorry for the two posts in a day,
Bejipan

I asked about this several months back, and I don't think anyone seemed intrested at the time, but I really want to do this, so I'm trying again.

I don't own the EGL bibles due to lack of money, but I'm with a scanlation group, and I am dying to get my hands on scans of the manga that are in the EGL bibles. Would anyone in the community be intrested in supplying my scanlation group with scans?

For those of you who don't know what scanlations are, they're where online manga fans scan, translate, then edit into English manga for the reading pleasure of other fans online. If you were to supply the scans, I wouldn't need scans from all the manga at once. I just need one of the little oneshot manga to start out.

If you're intrested in helping me out with the project, please e-mail me at aldrea_1@yahoo.com

Also, I was wondering if anyone is aware of a sort of anthology of all the manga in the EGL bibles? Does a little tankubon of the stories exist, or is the manga only avalible in the egl bibles themselves?

Well I am not sure how many of you will agree with me, but I know when I first saw this it made me think of the GL style!

In a relatively new magical girl anime called Pretty Cure, one of the two main heroines, Cure White, wears an ensemble that has some particulary traditional GL elements to them.

The poofy skirt, the lace, the giant ass bow, the shawl thing. Her hair is awfully big and eighties, but in the actual animation of the show it doesn't look as bad. -_-;

What do you guys think? Agree? Disagree?

Apologies if this has been asked before.
I'm planning on making my own wa-loli kimono.
While I can barely read a pattern but can get by with some help (from my fiance's mum), there is no way on earth I'll be able to actually adjust the pattern of a regular kimono to that of a wa-loli kimono.
So my question is: does anyone know where to find the pattern for a wa-loli kimono?

Hi, sweethearts.

Just out of complete curiousity (a few months later o-o)...
I was wondering who all showed up to the Animazement tea party and/or photo shoot?

I know only... 2 of you, offhand, but I'm fairly certain quite a _lot_ of you raised your hands when I asked who was from this community. (It made me very happy, by the way :) )

If I plan to do it again (and yell at the AZ board that I said eleven and NOT twelve U_U)... Would you all come back?
Hopefully they will cooperate this time and make it a bit easier to deal with ^^;;

I'd be very open to assistance this time, as far as actually handling the tea party goes.
(The stupid coffee makers in the hotel did not detach from the wall ;-;)

Ah well. I did have fun. :) Let me know your opinions, and if you showed up, who you are! I have pictures. :D

got socks?

well, what a fortunate circumstance. here i was bemoaning my inability to find a pic of a pair of socks i saw in athens georgia online...when mayoini posts a pic of them not moments later! :) heh.
anywho, if you are able to get to junkman's daughter's brother in athens, georgia. go there and check out their stockings. they've got these socks...

but they are white base with pink ribbons or black with dark pink ribbons. next time i'm up there, i will purchase them. (i'm scrounging money for dragoncon currently ^^;) they also have rainbow colored loose legwarmers and heaps of shoes that would be perfect for egl-ing. :)

on another note.
i was wondering if anyone has tried to resize (if thats the right word) a printed pattern. i just realized i've got a large box FULL of patterns for little girls' dresses from the late 70's and early 80's. i know there's cinderella in there, and all their designs are perfect for lolis. but the though of redrafting the patterns to fit an adult just boggles my wee brain. any thoughts or suggestions?

This set is all by Shadowfae (except the headdress which i made). I'm wondering if i like the sleeves? Maybe it would look better just trimmed in lace rather than with teardrop lace? Tell me what you guys think:

also, bear in mind that this second one is an outfit IN PROGRESS:

Well I saw this black overdress on the Atelier Boz site and i had to have it. Donna of http://www.originalsindesign.com made it for me (they didn't offer it in anywhere near my size or i would have purchased from them). Now that i have it, it sort of doesn't work on bare skin w/ no shirt underneath. So i tried wearing a dress underneath:

Does it work? Any advice? I have a red hankerchief hem style skirt like in the Boz outfit that i can wear but what do i wear underneath on top???

I was quite happy to find an EGL-eske woolen sweater in H&M today :)
It was a bit more expensive then most of their things (29.90 euros) but that's still not bad for such a nice EGL-eske piece of clothing, especially if you consider what the authentic Japanese brands cost :)
H&M seems to be a very good place to get EGL (sweet and gothic) type clothing this time of year. Shirts vary between 7.99 euros and 24.99 euros, most are 14.99 :)
Thought this was a good tip for those that have H&M near them :)
