After seeing all these tea party/gathering pictures, I'm a bit envious. Are there enough Dallas area lolitas interested in holding a tea party?

Hi! I'm Marilyn... I have read this community for a long time and I don't think I ever posted :-)

I was wondering what other western lolis do about shoes?? I have been looking into shoes for quite some time, cutesy platforms and mary janes- I look alot on ebay with a little luck but we just don't have cute shoes like they do in japan.

I was wondering if anyone had ever ordered shoes from Japan?? I am in love with these shoes ) from baby the stars shine bright but I don't think I can order them. I have *big* feet- I wear a US size 10-11 (womens) and I seriously doubt *any* shoe from Japan would fit my big feet. I know they go by S*M*L standards & have measurements but the large seems way smaller than I need. I am desperately in search of cute pink shoes, as well as white frilly or patent mary jane type shoes - to go with my wedding dress :-)

I am not in a huge rush, but I really want to know if anybody has any suggestions or brand names or *anything* for me to find cute shoes for my horribly big feet >:-P ~*thanks!!!*~

In response to recent question(s) about shoes, I've gone on a shoe hunt. Most shoes might require a bit of work to be done. All sizes are listed, and each link opens in a popup window.

Hot topic Maryjanes
They have tiny black cotton lace around the edges but they only have size 10-11 left! I've tried some on in the store and they were a size 10 and I wear a 9. They didn't seem too uncomfortable.

Torrid Maryjanes
These look very similar to the famous BtSSB shoes. I think they're(the btssb shoes) in an earlier post. They only have a size 8 left, so hurry!

Another Torrid Creation
These have a nice comfortable platform and I would consider adding white eyet ruffles/lace to make them not so plain. Size 6-11, no halfsizes.

More Torrid
Again, I would add lace to them to make them look jazzier, but these are a nice, patent leather. They have a seam on the front already, so that will help make sure your lace is in a straight line. Sizes 7-12, no halfs.

Funkefeet has a very large selection of Maryjanes, and if you're going for the Mana look(huge platforms), check the very bottom of the Maryjane page. ;D They carry whole sizes only, usually 6-12.

White Electrique Maryjanes
You never know what a bit of inspiration and ribbon can do! Sizes 6-10, some half sizes.

Black Electrique Maryjanes
Rather plain, but in a refreshing way. Sizes 6, 8, 8 1/2, 10

Another pair of white Electrique Maryjanes
These have a nice scalloped heel cover, and a bow on the front. Sweet lolita! Size 6-8, halfsizes.

Same as the aforementioned, but in pinkxwhite
Sizes 5-10, some halfsizes.

Electrique Boutique has many more styles of Maryjanes and boots.

I hope I've helped someone! *hugs to all* I must give credit for some of the links to [livejournal.com profile] seeinglife

so, there is a store in my home town called "Liquidators," and basically it is one guy who buys estate and then puts EVERYTHING in this one store. after discovering it's existence, and figuring out it schedule (whenever the fudge he feels like opening, usually late afternoon though mid evenings) i have made a habit of going in there and exploring.
I found an amazing skirt!
so much happy

Hi all,
Lately my wallet has been feeling the pain of the season and my dreams of buying EGL clothing are slowly diminishing. But alas, there is hope! I keep thinking that I could learn to sew, and then I could make some of the items from the patterns in the GL Bibles and such. I have access to a sewing machine but I have no clue where to start really. I realize it's a skill picked up by practice, but I have a lot of time on my hands right now and the drive to do it! Does anyone have any good pointers or know of good resources that would help start me on the way?
