top fo the morning to ya^^

So...have any of you actually ever read the novel Lolita?
It's one of my all tyme favorite books.I would definitely suggest anyone who is interested in EGL to read it.I mean, afterall, Vladmir Nabokov is the one who coined the term Lolita. The man behind it all, really.=P I just think read it gives you a really good understanding of what Lolita really is. ^_~.
Not nessicarily a nice sweet innocent little girl...Well, to an extent.Haha

I typed out an excerpt for you guys from the book where I think it is most obvious when referring to the way Lolita (the particular character) or a Lolita dresses.Just thought youd enjoy :)

I just thought of something cute ...
furry lolitas

lolitas in furr
I think the fashion this winter should be furr.

yea - furrrrr

but I got this cute vintage rabbit furr hat to use for my wedding,
and well - it kind of looked like a furry lolita head piece.
It was definetly VERY cute ...
it's the kind that uhm, is like a rounded rectangle that just cups and sits on your head.
I'll have to get a picture -
furry lolitas!!!!!!!

-any know where I can get good foux fur for sewing?
It's so hard to find anymore *8/
Stripeds to.
I think the fabric industry needs help ...
they need to realize that shag and stripeds should always be around.

I really can't remember if I posted this or not so I appologize if it's old news :). I made this costume. I used Fruits and EGL fashion as an inspiration. I hope you like it! :) Sorry it isn't the best picture, the only ones I had. I wore it to Anime Festival Orlando a few months back.

Get this...my mother actually likes it. ^^;. I'm all hyper now. Has anyone ever tried to curl cheap halloween wigs? Is it impossible? I know it'd be hard to manage, but for like...a once or twice time thing. Thanks for the advice.

It's lined (to see inside look under the lj cut) with pink flowery fabric. It's got an edge of black bias binding. The strap is black ribbon and it's loonng :-) about hip height (depending on your own height!) if you want to know anything else about it just ask away. Either here or email me zebraphenia (at) hotmail (dot) com

Some of you were asking about the quality of the "Body Line" clothing label that have been on sale in eBay recently. I bought a dress and a shirt from the a few weeks ago, and I recieved them this week. They are really, really cute! I was worried about the quality, but for they're perfectly fine from what I can see. They're made of the same kind of materials as the Japanese brands, and the only difference is they're made in China. I guess that means they're more mass-produced and less exclusive like the other brands who have limited runs, but if all you want is a dress and a shirt to wear around to conventions and tea parties and stuff, you can't really go wrong. But as they say, the proof is in the pudding... I took some pics of me in them this morning:

Macy's has EGL prom dresses on sale. They are still in the $60-$88 price range. I saw one that looked like it came from a GLB...black with small straps, slight poofy skirt, and it had a block white rose print near the bottom edge. There was a lot of poof and french patterns. I looked but my credit card said no!
