I just thought of something cute ...
furry lolitas

lolitas in furr
I think the fashion this winter should be furr.

yea - furrrrr

but I got this cute vintage rabbit furr hat to use for my wedding,
and well - it kind of looked like a furry lolita head piece.
It was definetly VERY cute ...
it's the kind that uhm, is like a rounded rectangle that just cups and sits on your head.
I'll have to get a picture -
furry lolitas!!!!!!!

-any know where I can get good foux fur for sewing?
It's so hard to find anymore *8/
Stripeds to.
I think the fabric industry needs help ...
they need to realize that shag and stripeds should always be around.

while touring the costume department of the historical society i was told about how sometimes in the victorian era they would use the fur from a child's deceased pet cat to make muffs. sometimes they would put the paws and/or head on it. thankfully he did not have an example to show us, or i might have fainted.

(fainted in horror, not pleasure... just to clarify.)

*grin* yeah! With whatever dress or what have you, we could wear kitty [or some other furry] paws and/or hats, it'd be sooo cute >3! Think Digi Charat-style, but with an added egl flair.

Hmm, with Halloween coming up, usually this is the time of year that Jo-Ann fabrics gets lots of faux fur in.

too late and rather off-topic.

This is sort of belated, but I've had fun trimming cuffs, colors, hats with recycled fur from thrift shops and garage sales. At that point, I think it's honoring the animal to use its fur for something beautiful when it might otherwise be thrown away...plus it's not funding the fur trade, as the coat is 2nd hand. Just a thought: not ALL fur is evil. And often a thrift-store rabbitfur coat is cheaper than new fake fur and looks a little more elegant (or at least I think so).

FWIW, I'm a vegetarian and I'd never wear new fur, though I do wear leather shoes so I suppose I'm a hypocrite. But at least shoe-leather comes from animals that are getting killed for food, rather than ones just being killed for fur.
