oh man,im sure you guys are sick of me asking BTSSB questions (hah) but this is the only EGL community on LJ, am i wrong? =P

anyway for those of you who have ordered from BTSSB, did you fill out that form thats on the site and send it to them in email, or did you just email them and tell them what you wanted to order?
im in the misdt of makin certain decisions 'bout what to buy and im just makin sure i know how everything works before i make anything final.

how much was the shipping? was it difficult getting your order through and whatnot? if you could just explain to me what you did to get your order through and complete, id love you forever

I know someone is writing an paper on EGL and if you can read German (or know someone who can) one of the German Gothic mags "Sonic Seducer" has an article on Japanese gothic/egl fashion. I haven't read it though--just noticed.

Also, if there are other Europeans on the list, I discovered a great resource for EGL fashion here in Germany. There are several vintage folk dress shops here in Munich and they have wonderful eyelet petticoats, aprons, and lacy shirts in addition to some really amazing dirndls. For some of the more folksy/prairie lolis out there this is a real find! And the petticoats were only 15.90€!!

Bonjour out there..
I'm new here and I adore this community. You might have seen me in ~fruits. I'm not much of an elegant gothic lolita, but many of you are just wonderful. As soon as my hostess allows me to upload some more pictures, or I get a new host, I'll post some of myself. Only picture is on my icon and that's not even good enough. Thanks.
I also have some >stuff here< on ebay if anyone is interested. ♥ ;;much love;; :)

Hey all! I'm writing this at the hotel in Fukuoka. I just got back from shopping at h.NAOTO, Black Peace Now, Batsu and Kera! Shop Heaven. At Kera! Shop Heaven I bought a Baby, The Stars Shine Bright blouse and BTSSB socks. (BTSSB was 30% off. ^_^;;) I got both of them for 9680 yen, or about 80 bucks. >_<;; And because I'm such an evil show off, here's a picture.

Callie is all Baby! )

The blouse and socks (which you can't really see) are obviously bought, but the skirt and hat are homemade. It's blurry because the flash on my camera is weird, and my friend's hands were shaking when she took it. I also have no make-up on and my hair is a mess as it's very impromptu.

Hopefully more later!

~Callie

A few interesting tid-bits came out of the article I mentioned in an earlier post in the German goth mag "Sonic Seducer" on Japanese Underground. I had my partner translate it at the grocery store today and apparently part of the underground fashion culture there is obsessive about German Nazi era stuff and mixes items of Nazi uniforms with pinks and pastels. I hadn't heard of that in Japan. I guess most of the images that I have seen aren'T focused on those aspects of fashion. I don't think that in Japan dressing with a faux Hitler mustache and the like is done the same way, or with the same intent, that kids in the US or in Europe do it that is, with the neo-Nazi ideas, I think that they just play with things that shock and are outrageous--like the ultra post-modernists that they are. It's still a little scary in my opinion though. What do you all think? That was news to me.

Also, the article mentioned the lack of affiliation between a gothic/dark music scene, morbidity etc and the Gothic Lolis and gothic fashion there---which is intimately connected with the Goth sub culture here (US/Norway/Germany). That really wasn't news to me--but the fact that tattoos are shunned was. I guess Japan has some really strict rules governing what skin you can show if you do have one. I also learned that public displays of affection, even touching noses, can result in a fine! My eyes are opening!

Just finished. The not-yet-complete version was shown with the sepulchral loli a few weeks back, and here's the finished product. I do wish that it was easier to get a decent photograph of black at night, but alas, the top fabric is a bit reflective in the flash and the camera cannot focus fully without the flash. The blurred and closed pictures are the actual color.

My latest love... parasols. This one will Very Soon be making its way to ebay along with the entire Sepulchral Loli outfit.

poo.i should have made my question more clear.><

for those of you who've ordered from BTSSB, what dress sizes did you order?
like i said, im 5'4 and about 110 lbs...so, if any of you are around the same what did you order?
ive FINAAAAAAAALY decided on the dress i want now the only problem is my dress size...cause i dont nessicarily want to have to ship my dress back to JAPAN after i waited so long for it if it doesnt fit.

i think i fit a japanese dress size 7....but ive read that the majortiy of girls in japan are short and thin, and the common dress size is 9.

poo.im confuzzled.
help me out
;D
