my apologies
Jul. 24th, 2003 10:40 pmpoo.i should have made my question more clear.><
for those of you who've ordered from BTSSB, what dress sizes did you order?
like i said, im 5'4 and about 110 lbs...so, if any of you are around the same what did you order?
ive FINAAAAAAAALY decided on the dress i want now the only problem is my dress size...cause i dont nessicarily want to have to ship my dress back to JAPAN after i waited so long for it if it doesnt fit.
i think i fit a japanese dress size 7....but ive read that the majortiy of girls in japan are short and thin, and the common dress size is 9.
poo.im confuzzled.

Because of the size variations between brands and garments within brands, there are usually measurements for each item on a brand's site. It's really important to check these measurements. It would probably be easiest if you took your own measurements and converted them to centimeters, rather than figuring out the garment sizes. Here's a decent unit conversion site:

Also, I made a page to help Americans with Japanese sizing. There's a chart to compare the most common Japanese sizes to their American equivalents.

Date: 2003-07-25 03:31 am (UTC)It's good to see someone who's doing all of their research[and I don't mean that in a sarcastic way, I was on the same boat when I started to buy things from BTSSB]
I am 5'3 and about 107 lbs. and between a size 5-6 in the U.S.
The things Baby makes are a japanese size 9, and the common measurements for that size are:
Bust; 32-34 inches
Waist; 25-27.5 and 24-26{on certain skirts, you have to look at the measurements they give}
Hips; for the most part I have found that hips are pretty much free, and I read in your post that you are thin, so you shoouldn't have a problem there!
glad to be of any help again!

Date: 2003-07-25 05:53 am (UTC)The dresses don't come in sizes, they're all one size only. I don't know how to explain this well... Each item comes in only ONE size, but they're not all the same size -- like, one skirt might have a 26 inch waist, while another one might have a 30, or be elasticized. So you have to check the measurements really carefully.
If you post a link to the dress you're interested in, I can translate its size information for you.
