Just finished. The not-yet-complete version was shown with the sepulchral loli a few weeks back, and here's the finished product. I do wish that it was easier to get a decent photograph of black at night, but alas, the top fabric is a bit reflective in the flash and the camera cannot focus fully without the flash. The blurred and closed pictures are the actual color.

My latest love... parasols. This one will Very Soon be making its way to ebay along with the entire Sepulchral Loli outfit.

Beautiful work! I absolutely love that. Do you plan on making more in the future at all?

*grins* I noticed -- I think I have all of the components. Great tastes alike, and all that...

I ADORE. If you'll tell me, what material is the trim? The flash makes it super-spooky; I can't quite make it out.

Never. I found great parasol-holding-vases at Michael's for $1, the other day, if they have those about. I may need another, soon.

Bwah! Makes sense. Where do you go to school? Your shop sounds like it was a great deal more useful than mine ever was; I do know the treatment you're speaking of, though...

...and I wouldn't dream of it. My charms are scattered about on doll-throats and hairclips; the closest you'll get of an imitation-flattery compliment is the idea of using lovely tattery trim on parasols. ^_~ (It's just TOO spookycute.)

School, university, same idea... *grins* Yee, I'm glad you had such a neat experience! ^-^ Sounds wonderful. Unfortunately, I'm at the Uni of Virginia, and I'm convinced the head is simply a nitwit, especially after looking through her old designs. And her current ones. And attending her classes. We had a wonderful woman before, who took me in for the upper level makeup and crafts... sewing was really my weakest area, so I'd been eager -- but alas, the staff changed... at this point, I don't think I could stand to take another class with the new woman. She's wretched.

Anyway, I do thank you for your suggestion! I didn't mean to whine and mope about my school; I'm a senior, so I'm really to the point now where I'm trying to take matters into my own hands and self-teach. (I was homeschooled for my pre-college education, so I'm used to it! ^-^) I'm trying to absorb stuff from the wealth around me... And I have to thank you for helping me with that! You are so skilled and talented! *admiration*

And do keep us posted on cobwebby stuff... I haven't found any thin enough gauze around here. Fyeeee...

*nods* I'm just going to finish my degree and try to learn someplace that's not this school, anyplace, so long as it's not here. *grins* I'm not exasperated. ;9

Whee! That's what I was thinking earlier, when the post topic came up... unfortunately, our local alternative-y foodstore was out last time I went, so I didn't get a chance to play. I want to try tea-dying it to yellow it a bit. <-- (all about the cheap dyes) If it works, I should just hit up one of my cheese-makin' friends to go in for bulk material. My entire apartment lives in fear of fits of Spooky Martha Stewart... ^_~

I'm in awe, that looks so wonderful, and the charms are so, well, charming, heh.

I've been costume head through about five productions now, at my highschool, and I'm considering going into fashion design or costuming, but I didn't realize that some colleges have theatre programs!

Hmm. Something to look into.

That gauze stuff looks like what I call "scare cloth" :) I work at "Knott's Scary Farm" in oct. as a monster and we use that stuff for flailing and scaring at guests. Its really light and airy so it doesn't hurt them or anything. Though ours is dyed pink! Doesn't make much sense for Halloween! hehe
