So I was at a record store today and saw a magazine called "Gothic Beauty". I looked through it and found an article on Lolitas. It made me super happy. I just wanted to share that.

Hi, I'm Robin CF and I own a site collective. Right now I have three sites in the making, one is a clique for people in interracial relationships, another is an Alan Rickman MP3 archive, and the last is an EGL related site.

I need YOUR help for the EGL one. Right now, I just need a layout. So, Lovely Lolis, if you have an image of YOURSELF that you have full rights to (meaning not a soul will pop up later and say "Hey, I took that picture and I didn't say you could use it" or something like that), please post a link to it here and the ones that will be easiest for me to work with, will be used in the EGL site's first layout.

PLEASE help me out. You will get full credit, and your very own page on the site if you'd like it. Even the ones that submit images that I don't use will get goodies.

(I know this is my second time posting tonight, but I have so many ideas zipping through my head that I couldn't help it. Please forgive me, loves.)

Interesting to see all of the (sometimes rather vehement) opinions on the potential Americanization of egl. The main arguments against such a thing happening seem to run along the lines of "America won't get the fasion 'right'" & "American people won't understand the sweetness & innocence of 'true' egl". Both arguments are myopic.

& I'll tell you why: )

The bottom line: nothing is new, you are not a unique & beautiful snowflake, your idea of "true egl" doesn't necessarily apply to anyone else, & most of all, don't worry about what other people are doing. It's really more trouble than it's worth, trust me.

hello, i'm very happy to have joined this intriguing community. i am very fond of the enchantment that is the victorian era and all of it's keepsake memoirs in style and beauty. EGL has drawn me in since my jrock days of yore. this is my favourite piece which i absolutely love wearing.

*shyly waves* Hello all ^_^; I'm new to this community (obviously, wow, I have such a way with words *cough* XD;).
I've just recently learned more about EGL (like, maybe 3 weeks ago), and I adore it *_* I've always liked the style the base the clothes from, and I've just gotten more and more hooked on it! After much begging, I've managed to get my mom to let me buy a dress online..I'd liek to learn how o sew my own, but my skills are less then stellar...
Is there any basic pattern I should start with..? And how long have you all been sewing, if you do? :3
Um, I drew this picture early this morning for a friend...it's probably not the best in the world but ehh..XD;
First time attempting an LJ cut so..forgive me if I screw this up x_x

Hello! I have been in this community a while, but never really posted anything. One thing that i've noticed (certainly not on this community, but on other sites) is that some lolis have the snooty 'its not really a loli outfit unless you buy it from one of these places' attitude, and all of the places they suggest are usually really expensive. But after looking through the mall with my aunt the other day I will say that it honestly doesnt matter where you buy your clothes, because if it has loli potential, then it does and a label shouldn't change that.
For instance, I bought a very nice frilly and overall fun skirt in american eagle, a lace shirt from 5-7-9 and a pair of crocheted socks from hot topic.
Bottom line, its a loli outfit (if I do say so myself)
and Another cute idea incase you girls dont have mary janes (i know I dont...eep)
Go to any dance store and buy a pair of black character shoes, they arent that expensive usually and since they're made for dance and theatre wear, last a really long time. Dance and costume stores are also really great places to get petticoats and underskirts. I dont know how many of you live in maryland, but i recommend repeat performance.
Sorry if this has annoyed anyone, just trying to be helpful ^.^

I couldn't resist, after seeing those "Lolier Than Thou" icons, to make my own.
