I've also heard bad things about the site (things like that clothes are badly made, etc...) I only actually know of one person that had bought something from there and they were very dissapointed with what they recieved. I hope that from all the bad feedback they've been getting, they've upped the quality of the clothes though!

I remember ages ago (like maybe a year ago or something) there was something about it crossposted on here and [livejournal.com profile] fruits and the person who owns LimeBarb got really upset about it and there was a big arguement about it on here.I'd rather hoped that the LimeBarb people had taken note of that and changed the way they make the clothes.

I read on the Limebarb page that the company is run by two people, a girl and a guy. The girl does all the major, complicated sewing; I'm guessing that if you order a dress or costume, it's coming from her. The page says that the legwarmers and some of the sailor tops are sewn by the guy. In various communities when people have complained about Limebarb's quality, it's invariably been about legwarmers or sailor tops. So maybe you're safe if you get something more complicated, but not if you buy those items sewn by the guy;)

Here's the famed review. (http://www.livejournal.com/community/egl/89731.html)

It's from January, so it has been 6 months or so, but I'd still be wary of the quality.

If anyone here has ordered from her in the last 6 months please share your experiences with us!

I wish i had done that. >_<
I sent my skirt and top back to be fixed.. and they came back worse than they already were.
(the skirt is far too short to be wearable, even though i gave her exact measurements)
Ah well. Glad someone got theirs fixed ^^

I thought there one pink skirt with the lace on the back was cute, it looked kind of like a mini bustle skirt. I went there last night, and I guess it's still revamping. I had found it before and decided to check it out again, and I got scared that everything was gone. Their cosplay looks amazing, especially the Chii costumes, ne? I might have to ask them if they could make a small part of an outfit for every-day wear, I haven't ever heard of a con here... Anyways, thanks!

They are really nice people, and yes their cosplay is awesome. I talked to the guy Ryan a few times at Anime Central '03, and seeing the Chii costumes up close, they do put alot of hard work into them. They even won an award in the masquerade. ^_^ Personally, I know it's hard making stuff for someone else in a short time frame, so I give them credit.

I didnt buy from the last six months, but last July. (I think my sister [livejournal.com profile] agitatorswaltz explained it, but the socks were extremely overpriced for what I received. I could have made a pair much better. ><;

Ergh..

Read the old post o.o
Ergh, it's like.. we went to Shoujocon 2002, and they were there. We told them we needed two socks before Shoujocon months in advance, and they sent one pair the day before we left. Our uncle (because he bought them for us) e-mailed them the same day we got them about the problem. Of course, they didn't tell us that "white" really means, "tooth plaque yellow" until we received the first pair of socks (a note was attached telling us that they had run out of white), so it didn't look right with my snow white shirt. They could have told us before they sent the first pair out >_<
Of course, at Shoujocon, their outfits were like superb craftmanship. I don't understand why they couldn't have taken the same kind of time and quality on my order, even if it was for pairs of socks. I really wouldn't want to see what an EGL dress would be like then.
I'm not badmouthing them. I'm not. I understand they're busy people, like everyone else is in the world. But it's like.. if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. It would save a lot of people's time and money.
