I'm pretty new to this fashion. I already have a few completed outfits and such, but whenever I come across photos of really beautiful lolitas (like you guys :D), they are usually wearing some sort of head-piece. I know most of you wear headdresses or Alice bows, but I personally don't like them.

I was wondering aside from these, are there other methods to "dress" your hair up? And is it necessary to wear something? I really don't know much about hair embellishments since my hair is pretty long and I just leave it the way it is, so I would like your opinions about it.

Thank you very much.

Hello, fellow lolis! The other day I created a speadsheet to keep track of all my loli purchases, and since somebody else requested it, I though other lolis out here may find use for it too! Please feel free to change it around to suit your needs.

Info, screenshot and download link under cut! ... LINK WORKS NOW! (I think) )

Enjoy! &_&

Maybe this topic was discussed here for several times, but I cannot find it in the archive (maybe I looked for the wrong words).

I have a question! Do someone knows WHO invented the term "gothic lolita"? I'm not sure, but Mana added the "(elegant) gothic" to the "lolita" fashion.
I know that this fashion styles started in th 80s- was it called lolita, or did it just look like lolita style is today?
and when did the fashion get its name?

And why does it get the name "gothic" and "lolita"?

This is a research for a magazine! I hope you can help me and excuse my bad English *lol*

Hi there folks...I was unloading a friend's camera, and she had taken a great shot of her little sister, thought I would share it with you.
Meredy always reminds me of those waify girls in Juliet et Justine ads )

And I look foward to sharing my work-in progress soon--combining my love of lolita with my love of traditional Jacobean crewel work. (not for the lolita purist, I warn you, but very pretty)

Ok, I know I've posted this before (Yeah I know, so be nice >> I don't have time right at this exact moment to go and find the other post and delete it), buuut there have been a change of plans! I would like to go to International District on August 22nd. We'd have lunch and go shopping and such and dress up all loli. ^____^
Not sure if anyone can make it THAT day, if not, then I'll have to change it again T_T
(And if you can go, but no ride, I can get you on my way >>)
So please let me know. Thanks ^_^

I just got this dress
http://www.metamorphose.gr.jp/onlineshop_eng/dresses/106205060059.php?ssid=132e211810662253016
I have the black one, which I wore to my daughters christianing, and I love it.
I plan to wear some type of white shirt underneath I suppose...but since I normally wear black base clothes I am a little puzzled but what shoes to wear.
I plan on getting a pair of white meta shoes but I am not sure if the might be TOO MUCH for the dress since it is darker.
Would pink work better or could I get away with black shoes? (I really only own black shoes, red shoes, and then black/white shoes)
I am going through my closet and I plan on posting a sale post as soon as my daughters 1st birthday pass (to much going on in my mind right now)

So sorry if this is an inane post, but is anyone at all familiar with Angelic Pretty and how often they restock? I'm not sure what it's called, but I want this dress really badly and they seem to have been sold out forever.

Or -- lawl -- does anyone have this dress and want to sell it to me? TT_TT

Hello!

I was wondering if anyone here is interested in a meet up at the Huntington Gardens? The website for the garden is located here: http://www.huntington.org/, and is located in San Marino, California. (You could generally call it part of the LA area). It's a beautiful place with a rose garden, Japanese garden, museum, and an upcoming Chinese garden. There's also high tea in a place amidst the Rose Garden.

There is one problem though. I haven't checked yet if they would actually let us into the gardens in loli, but I want to get a basic headcount first, so I know if it's worth asking them. This meet-up, knowing how strict the Huntington is, will probably only be for Sweet Loli, EGA, and Kodona styles.

----

Edit:

Please realize that plans are cemented at the moment! Right now, we have three choices.

1. Huntington Gardens (Would require us to contact prior to know whether they would actually let us in.)
2. Aboretum (http://www.arboretum.org/)
3. Tea Room ( Tea Rose Garden or Scarlett)

With the first two, it would be nice for pictures, as there is pretty scenery, but it will be hot seeing how the weather is tis year. Huntington Gardens would also have a tea room, and the aboretum has a picnic.

[livejournal.com profile] vitalritari made me this luscious skirt—a replica of an Atelier Boz skirt, with one color modification—and wanted to see photos here on egl. I am in love with this skirt, personally. :3

Onto the photos! )
