I have items up for auction, if you'd like to see them, clik ze pik!

We already know my work is not considered 'pure' EGL (but then again, is anything outside of Japan?) but perhaps it would be acceptable for those social occasions where you have to 'dress-down'. The two dresses that have been worn before are a very reasonable $40 ($15 over materials cost) and come with the accessories. The other three are limited editions or OOAK, brand new, and (I think) very cute! I feel accessorizing with a nice apron/pinafore and some leg warmers would dress any of these up nicely. ^_^

Who knows what stores (like NOT online) sell tall stilleto boots with a round toe instead of the ugly pointed one? Lace-ups are even better.... That is kind of EGL right? Visual kei artists wear them all the time, and they usually dress in EGL.... Ebay works too...I just couldn't find any in my size T_T (7 1/2 or 8. THey were all either way too small or just too big T_T)

Metamorphose is having a special "set" sale right now and I think it's a fantastic deal!

For instance, the "Nurse Set" comes with the dress and matching petticoat (in your choice of baby blue or pink) and a pair of striped over-the-knee socks (in your choice of colors). This set usually costs 44800 yen separately but the sale has this 3-piece set for 20000 yen! There are two other sets listed on the site so you all should check them out. :)

But I've seen a lot of talk about "plus size" (and by plus size, I'm assuming you all mean not the standard Japanese size, because no one should ever be labeled big or plus!) Loli's out there, and I just have to know... everything I sew, I do so with my shape in mind. Of course, when I go to sell such things, no one ever bids on them because I'm such an anorexic looking creature, and honestly want to know if some of you gal's out there wouldn't mind sharing your measurements in hopes so I can produce a wider range of clothing for *every* body type :).

Weirdness -- I looked into ordering that Metamorphosis nurse set (if the dress really has a 31'' waist, I could fit it >.>;) but they only have pink left and I really wanted the blue. But, at any rate, when I popped up the checkout page, Xenia's info was there o.O; (I know you're in this group; do you live at 5-- 4- St in Brooklyn?) It was really weird, maybe we both placed an order at exactly the same time and there's a glitch in the system (although I reloaded and it's still there)? I dunno, but because of that I'm going to be kind of wary about punching in my credit card number on that site (they give you the option to email your info, as well). Just... um... an FYI.

[Edit: Apparently, my link was incorrect. I apologize for that, girls. I was in the middle of doing something else and it turns out I accidentally got the coding a little bit off. The link is now corrected. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] het for staying on top of things and providing a corrected link for all the girls via the comments page. Once again, sorry for the mistake! ^_^ ]

I'm back with another article about EGL for any of you that are interested. This time it comes straight from the GGA (Game Girl Advance) Zine. It is entitled "Playing Dress Up," and written by Jane Pinckard (C/o 2003 GGA).
Excerpt: The creepy cuteness is meant to disturb, to provoke. The "Lolita" is alluring, but the "Goth" says you might not like what you get. The Goth is twisted, in control of herself and of the Lolita. She's a little girl, but a fake little girl, because she's actually Death disguised, decay clothed in innocent frills.

Hi, I don't post very often, but I thought this might be of interest to Lolitas around the San Francisco East Bay area.

I just saw this on the Metamorphose website:

There's this store called Pearle Accessories in San Leandro across from Bayfair Mall that sells hair accessories similar to these for only about $5 each. They're all very cute! Check them out if you can. I can even give directions to the place. I go there a lot.
