I have a circle skirt whose waistband currently closes with a hook and eye; it's a little big. I'm thinking about removing the hook and eye and turning the waistband into an elastic casing. Do you think this would mess up how the skirt hangs/lies/falls? Is there a better/easier way to go about this?

In 4 days (the 29th) I will be dressing as Sakai no Chi To Bara Mana ( with a bit of personalization) and I will be going to a thing here in the Ohio/WestVA area called "the taste of the valley" and what it is.. is the restaurants here all get together at a place called the Lafayette and give the community a chance to sample their wares. (all kinds of good food!) and basically I am going to be representing my friend Todd ( a pastry chef ) .. anywayi get to play the part of Mana *praises him* and pantomime and represent everything that is EGL... anyway what I was going for was that if anone had any tips or anything let me know.. as well as well wishings. (im nervous as hell!!)

Well i sure do talk a lot for someone who dresses Mana don't I? LOL

anyway anything would be good!!!

From my last post a bunch of you mentioned interest in seeing my 18th century and 18th century inspired costumes, and while they are not strictly egl/lolita, I do however think that 18th century stylings can have a heavy egl/lolita influence and fit well with the whole look. A lot of egl/lolita outfits are certainly trimmed in a very 18th century styled manner. So I'd say these outfits could definatly fit into an EGL look (along with of course the other main period influence which I would say is Victorian). Anyways here are various 18th century style dresses I have made over the years. I don't have a pic of my halloween dress I am making because it is not done yet, but it will be gold and dark bronze brocade with cream lace and gold trim, and I will post a photo when it's done. If any of you want to contact me about making you something 18th century inspired, it is my speciality (next to corsetry) so feel free to email me at Batty@io.com or you can always check out my website at http://www.azacdesign.com
