Just as in the previous upsettingness-causing Hot Topic lolita dress, this one too has a dropped waist, which *doesn't* suit the style. And flatters few figures. I like the puff sleeves, though.
if it where separates it would be so bad it would make quite a cute shirt and if the dress where slightly longer it would be acceptable and very BPN acutal it is quite BPN they way it is.
Please note, before another Hot Topic/Lip Service flam war starts, that this is simply a "lolita" dress. Not sold as EGL, or Japanese Lolita dress, simply Lolita. Japan hardly owns the rights to the term Lolita.
....Exactly.............. And hmmm.... i actually like the dress. Granted, its a little too short for my taste, but i love bloomers, so i wouldnt mind wearing it with some nice bloomers. Ah, and something else, this dress is far more easy to wear as opposed to froofy japan lolitaness. +raises goblet to "wearable daily" clothing. ~Morcielaga
rofl, actually i had an thought once, maybe a month ago when i saw how big the egl communities are getting and seeing all the egl sites and i thought, 'hot topic is going to get a hold of this..' and they did. and they just can't make it as good, which i think is my major problem with them.
I saw the lolita dress from before on somebody. It was Butt ugly. She looked horrible. This dress is... well the sleaves are too small. The waist far too low to look right. Bet it would fit my waist but be too short in the hips. Blah bad designing there.
News on the "Geisha" costumes~ Hee. XD Cori e-mailed HT about how they were incorrect about calling it a geisha, when clearly it was..clearly not a kimono. (She wasn't being an asshole, she just felt why make the masses more ignorant on Asian cultures. It'd be like calling a German Liederhosen outfit French, you dig?) And they replied. XD They said they changed the problem, but now the outfit in question is gone! o.o And the other "geisha" is now a "purple gothic vixen". Don't deny the power of customer service. ^_^
I know all you lolies are upset at the apparent mainstream spread of egl, but as shi_sama said, this is not advertised as an elegant gothic lolita dress , just a lolita dress. Besides, I think it's adorable, muahah! =X ;D BUT, who knows what's the future has in store for this current Hot Topic lolita trend.
I don't see how that is a costume... 'Though I think all of their so-called costumes are pretty lame, actually. I mean, they're just selling their normal clothes with like, something attached to them, or suggesting you buy a set of things. And I don't see what's so "lolita" about that dress...
It's cute enough as far as the "little black dress" theme goes, but I don't think the style would be very flattering on many people, regardless of how thin they were. And though I can't tell from the pciture exactly what kind of fabric it's made out of, it doesn't appear to help the style out much. But bits of it are cute (sleeves and collar in particular). And I'm really not sure why it's in the Halloween costume section.
It's also quite nice that the "geisha" costume problem was fixed. Thank you! (to whoever)
*hides in shame* I acutally bought that dress (Hey, I had money that was given as a graduation gift sitting around for 3 months). It's alot nicer than that picture shows. its got several rows of ruffles and lace at the bottom and ruffle things up the front where it buttons up. It's not that bad a quality. It's not as cheap as most of their other dresses, The lace isn't too great a quality. I snagged it on a braclet... It is too short though, and I feel uncomfortable becaue of the shortness. I'm going to by some bloomer for it though... *hides some more*
overpriced!
