How often do you girlies wear petticoats?

I'm thinking about wearing mine into school, but I'm mildy concerned about the mobility factor, lol.
I'm in 11th grade, so most of the kids are mature enough now (& are used to me, so I'm pretty sure I won't get harassed, lol)

Does anyone else dress up in EGL for school?
It is hard to get around (through hallways, sitting in little desk-chairs) during the day?

lol. just a though I had.

I just thought I'd check myself with the experts. Do you think a month and a half is enough time for a total beginner to complete a dress, or should I hire someone? The dress looks rather simple, and there are certain parts that I could probably buy and alter...but there is a lot of flowiness, you know?
If I do happen to make it myself, this will be my first EGL accomplishment! How exciting!
ANY advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I just love all the cute winter jackets and coats. In the 7th Gothic & Lolita Bible, pages 14 and 15, show some nice ones from Victorian Maiden and alice auaa, plus pages 36 - 39 have some other nice ones from various brands, such as Moi Meme Moite, Miho Matsuda, Atelier-Boz etc... :)
I have a nice ankle length black double-breasted felt [i think its felt] coat that strikes me as kind of Elegant Gothic Aristocrat-ish, maybe with a hint of military syle. I'll probably post some pictures when it gets a bit more chilly here in England :)

Also - random question: does anyone else find it harder to dress EGL in the summer? I'm not talking a matter of whether its too hot to dress in so many layers, i mean more like summery clothes seem to be less elegant looking...
