Jo-ann's is having a sale on Simplicity patterns from the 14th through the 16th ($5 for 5 patterns) and on McCalls from the 19th through the 21st (I'm not sure if it's the same deal but it probably is).

Also recently put out and not on that list yet from Simplicity :

Ooo. I can just see the first in black with corset lacing on the front bodice, and black lace trim on the wide straps and skirt. Yum!

I was looking at patterns the other day and i saw loads of prom dress that with a little(a lot) of shortening and maybe a little alteration would make perfect lolita dresses.

I've ordered this cute Oscar de la renta pattern mainly cause i like the pleats.

I went to look at some children's patterns on the net, for fun, too bad they are only children's sizes..

Woah.
Where are those patterns sold/what brand? I can fit into the upper range of girls sizes... usually between 10-14 in patterns.

oh, do you know what the B-W-H measurements are for 10-14? I am clueless with american sizing. I want to buy them if they can fit too!

I was excited about those patterns too until I realized that the dresses only come in children's sizes, which is only up to a 6x. The coat pattern however, is in both children's and girls' sizes; therefore it goes up to size 14.

It could be graded up to larger dimensions, but the thing is little girls' patterns are made for people who haven't acquired any 'shape' yet. The patterns would still not fit right because they weren't made for people with any curves whatsoever. It's likely it wouldn't hang right and if you tried to fix that aspect you'd basically be re-drafting the whole thing anyway. In that case I'd rather save my money and draft my own patterns. ^__^;

I'll probably buy the pattern for the coat, but that doesn't mean I'll actually make it anytime soon. I have so many patterns stacked up around here that I haven't touched. I hear Vogue patterns are usually quite complex, so if it appears difficult, chances are it is.
