Feb. 7th, 2003 09:19 amHey dolls.
1.) Since I know lots of you girls are into making your own clothes, maybe some of you can help me out. A friend of mine wants me to make him a jacket like this (first choice) or like this, without the bow, for him, but I can't find a good pattern (or a pattern at all, in the case of the long coat). Anyone have any idea where I could find one, or have one? Or even know a time period that I can look through historical patterns for something like that? I'd just let him borrow my own very similar long jacket, but it's a bit tight on him and I don't think he wants one with a fur-trimmed hood. ^_~
I imagine I can find one for the short jacket, but it would probably be a "female" pattern and be tight in the shoulders and well, cut for a human with breasts. Anybody know a "guy pattern" for a jacket like that?
2.) A while back someone scanned in photos that showed [what looked like] ega boys with egl girls... anyone remember that post? I wanted to show the pictures to the aforementioned guy friend. I think it was either from Fruits or scans from one of the bibles.
3.) I have a cute, simple maroon velvet dress that with the addition of some lace or ruffles and maybe a white collar would be a great egl piece. I'd keep it for myself but I'm extraordinarily picky about where my necklines sit. It can fit a small or medium. Any of you girls want it? $5 + shipping. I'd post a picture but currently my computer is refusing to recognize that my card reader is indeed plugged in. >_

He favoured the EGA look. :)

Date: 2003-02-07 09:28 am (UTC)1) For the coat I suggest looking for a man's Victorian coat pattern.
2) The images were from most likely from either EGL Bible 6 or 7. I remember seeing them though; I'll try and track them down for you if you still want them.
3) I would love it but I'm a large.

Date: 2003-02-07 04:15 pm (UTC)The measurement across just beneath the underarms is 17.5" and the fabric can stretch. It's about 29" long altogether, and 26" wide at the bottom hem. It doesn't really have a much of a waist, it just flares, or I'd measure that, too. It's completely plain and has no adornments. The sleeves are short, but long enough that someone with elastic and know-how could turn them into poofy sleeves. The neck is a scoopneck and on me at least it starts right at my throat. It's *perfect* for adding a peter pan collar to because on the inside, it has little flappy things all around the neckline that you could attach it to. The velvet is very soft.
