Hey dolls.

1.) Since I know lots of you girls are into making your own clothes, maybe some of you can help me out. A friend of mine wants me to make him a jacket like this (first choice) or like this, without the bow, for him, but I can't find a good pattern (or a pattern at all, in the case of the long coat). Anyone have any idea where I could find one, or have one? Or even know a time period that I can look through historical patterns for something like that? I'd just let him borrow my own very similar long jacket, but it's a bit tight on him and I don't think he wants one with a fur-trimmed hood. ^_~
I imagine I can find one for the short jacket, but it would probably be a "female" pattern and be tight in the shoulders and well, cut for a human with breasts. Anybody know a "guy pattern" for a jacket like that?

2.) A while back someone scanned in photos that showed [what looked like] ega boys with egl girls... anyone remember that post? I wanted to show the pictures to the aforementioned guy friend. I think it was either from Fruits or scans from one of the bibles.

3.) I have a cute, simple maroon velvet dress that with the addition of some lace or ruffles and maybe a white collar would be a great egl piece. I'd keep it for myself but I'm extraordinarily picky about where my necklines sit. It can fit a small or medium. Any of you girls want it? $5 + shipping. I'd post a picture but currently my computer is refusing to recognize that my card reader is indeed plugged in. >_

Oooooh =)

Wow, I've been dressing like this for ages, not knowing there was a name for the style that I love and then I stumble upon a few sites, eventually leading here? I feel so silly and uninformed! *blush* I must really be out of the social loop or something.

I'm new here, obviously. I've been wandering around some of the clothing sites and wow, I wish I was rich or I had the time to sew right now. *sigh* But I'm already wasting $60 on a pair of ankle breaking platform Mary Janes that I can't afford (the starving student thing sucks). I'm Meg. 20 years old (21 in May, YEAH!), I'm attending FIDM in LA, California and majoring in costume design. I’m a Fashion designer and costume designer specializing in Victorian, Renaissance and 18th century garb, Illustrator for fashion design, costume design and fantasy. I love Alice in Wonderland. I’m very perky and up beat in nature even though I fall into the Gothic category (hey, I went through the depressed goth thing in high school, why go back there when this is much more fun?)

Concerns of fashion, I have a tendency to play and I'm always trying to push my creative limits, when I have the time. My style is simply me, it's the darker side of fluff and lace, innocence with a very tainted core I guess you could say. It's hard to describe. It started out with toying with a child-like image while throwing in elements of kink and just took off from there. I’ve been sewing since I was 13 and thanks to school forcing me to sew something new every week, I’ve gotten very skilled at it. I’m itching to start several costumes and throw together a few new skirts but I can’t right now. >=( School is killing my time but I always get super inspired when I don’t have the time.

Few Fun things I've created )

Ok not cats...but I could use some help in the proper name for something!
It's not quite a headdress, but way to big to be a barrette, and too small to be a hat.
I hid it behind a cut (also I'm crossposting so apologies in advance)
take a peek! )
