I have to say that this is the coat of my dreams. While I can be pretty sure that the quality of Mary Magdalene's items must be decent (especially considering how much the item is), the price is just a tad bit steep for my tastes.

Fan+Friend offers a similar coat here. As of late, I've heard a pretty mixed bag about experiences from F+F.

My question specifically is, since after shipping the F+F similar design is going to cost me a pretty penny still, is it worth it just to save up for the Mary Magdalene coat? If anyone has bought any items from Mary Magdalene in the past, would you mind sharing what the quality was like? (ie: Would something like that hold to almost daily use?)

Thanks so much.. ♥♥♥

I bought the Mary Magdalene version of that coat and I'm in love with it. It has beautiful shape, I can wear it with anything, and I get compliments like none other when wearing it.

I haven't had an experience with F+F, but just because of the potential disappointment and the price, I'd say save up for MM. The MM coat will DEFINITELY be gorgeous, whereas the F+F might be an atrocity, in which case you can send it back so they can fix it or whateverand you'll have to pay shipping....And then add in the initial shipping... It just comes to a high price.

Though I do not have the coat nor have I ever gotten anything commissioned by F+F, I would recommend saving up enough money for the original. I've had commissions done twice by two different people, and I've been disappointed both times. It's so much more worth it to save up enough and buy the real deal. That way you won't even have to risk being disappointed *^^* Hope this helps.

I bought the jacket off someone in the community. Nothing really wrong with F+F I should add the jacket was made almost a year ago. Everyone as to start somewhere. I think they made a note in the sale now how they added an inside button.

I love that coat! I am getting mine made by f+f (via the group order) in all black instead of the houndstooth. When I get it I can tell you about the quality. .^_^.

The MM one is beautiful, however its a $400 dollar coat, plus fees and shipping it will come to well over $500. You have to weight the cost vs. the practicality (if you are on a budget that is). I wear mostly dark clothing, and it really doesnt get that cold here, so for practicality I got the cheaper coat in all black.

If you have the money for the MM coat and doing mind spending it then I would totally go for it.

Oooh, do post pics when it comes in and reviews, because I really want the coat in all black and MM doesn't make it in black it seems, so I'd be gleeful if I could get even a replica in black @_@ So do let us all know how it comes out!

I have high hopes! A full report will be forthcoming assuming the order successfully goes through. *crosses fingers*

I ordered a few things from the group order too, but not a coat (living in the south makes me doubt I'll ever need a loli coat, no matter how cute they are... and until I make the move north to be a lawyer, I can't justify getting one for the month of winter we have)

ahh yes, its understandable why you wouldnt want to invest in a coat. We do get a couple months of "cold" here in SB... I'm such a wuss though, as soon as the weather goes under 60 degress I get the wool coat ready. And I love coats! Unfortunately none of the ones I have look good over puffy skirts, so this is a good excuse for a new one! .^_^.

That is also my dream coat! 0_0 I intend to make my own replica of it! <3 so beautiful
$435, not to mention shipping >_< *gulp* yeah that is definitely a pretty penny, but if I were to buy one brand item, that would be it. Winter here is bone chilling, even if it only gets snowy and SUPER cold for a few months, theres at least 6 months of cold weather here.

I've only had good experiences with F+F, and I think the quality of their items is really very good. However, I havn't ever ordered anything in wool from them (am also planning on gettin a coat this winter), so I don't know about that.

If you decide to go for the F+F one, remember that shipping is free if you also buy one of their fur muffs with the coat.
