Shoe help?
Aug. 16th, 2006 02:38 pmI was intending to buy a pair of Montreal shoes until I realized they have ballerina lacings with what appears to be Velcro? If this is the case I'd like something more stable and practical. I selected two other shoe choices from Montreal and would like your opinion if you could, please :)
If anyone knows anything about the shoes, then please volunteer your information! I know that the hearts set was reviewed well, my only worry is that they wouldn't match all my clothes/would be clunky.
The poll is over here.
Thanks for looking everyone!

Date: 2006-08-16 07:38 pm (UTC)How does the ankle strap feel?
Do they feel clunky?
Are they tall?
Do they get hot?
The question is, can they stand up to a day of high school complete with staircases? :\
Thanks! :D

Date: 2006-08-16 08:32 pm (UTC)They don't feel really clunky to me, but I have always worn big boots and oxfords, so it may be a matter of preference. Also the platforms taper down so the actual footprint of the shoe is small.
The platforms are about 3 inches at their tallest spot and 1 inch in the front, so its like walking on 2 inch heels. So, compared to the lolita lola RHs they don't really feel tall ^_^
As far as getting hot... unless you are wearing canvas or leather, any synthetic shoe is going to get hot inside. Just make sure you wear socks or socklets to keep your feet a little cooler.
For being able to stand up to a whole day of high school stomping... I can't really tell you. In all truth, these wouldn't be the most comfortable shoes for walking all day, I'm a lazy bum and since I work in an office environment in front of a computer I don't have to be on my feet much. HS was a while back for me... usually I wore either my docs, or my chucks back then. Kids are probably more fashionable now a days ~_^.
I hope that provided a little help!

Date: 2006-08-16 09:24 pm (UTC)My dress code says 'shoes only', not even boots when there is about eight inches of snow outside -_-U
Of course you really only walk between classes, which is about four times a day. The rest of the time I'm sitting. I'm just not big on falling down the stairs head first -_-UU
Ok, thanks for your help! It's good to know these things since I can't try them on :(

Date: 2006-08-16 09:48 pm (UTC)No boots? That sucks!
These shoes would be fine then if you are just walking in between classes. As long as you don't have to run from the security guards or any teachers...
...not that I would know anything about that!

Date: 2006-08-16 10:59 pm (UTC)Yeah, no boots :( It snows a lot and rains a lot and ices a lot and kids get away with construction boots but my boots sometimes get the hack (and these are shoe-like boots! A real boot, like the cute AP replicas, would get eaten.)
I prefer to lie my ways out of things like that, and then blink cutely until they acquiesence to my request.
