Montreal Shoes Review
Aug. 7th, 2006 08:01 pmI have just gotten my Montreal shoes, so I'm doing a little review for them. As far as I know, this is the first one for shoes OTHER than the AP replica boots? XD
I've seperated my review into 4 parts- fit, comfort, service, and the pictures.
THE SERVICE:
I was extremely pleased with the service. Esther is a great person, and she does what she can to make sure everything goes smoothly. I never had to wait for a response from her longer than I should have, and she helped me out with any questions I had. She's punctual, professional, and pleasant ♥
On July 17th, I asked about the shoes I wanted (#28576). I wondered if they happened to have a size up from 24.5, and to my luck they had just bumped the sizing up to a 25. She got back to me that night, and I placed the payment. She was okay with the fact that I had to use my brother's paypal.
On July 18th, she notified me that she had gotten the payment.
On July 25th, she emailed me to confirm my shipping address.
On July 30th, she let me know that she had shipped out my shoes on the 29th and that they would arrive soon.
On August 4th, my shoes arrived! ¦D They did not come in a box, but they were bubblewrapped carefully and shipped in a mega-envelope.
THE FIT:
I was a little unsure about the sizing I should go about getting. I am a 8.5 US (sometimes a 9, but that's usually when they run small). I looked at sites and they said I was a 24.5, and I did my own measuring just to make sure. However, I was STILL wary about ordering a 24.5 shoe, so I bumped up to a 25.
I am SO GLAD that I went with a 25. They fit me beautifully, they're not too tight or too loose. They have enough room to wear with socks, and even with something thin like stockings, they'll fit perfect. There's plenty of room in the toe area because they arch up a bit (I can't describe it, you'll see in the pictures).
They're easy to get on as well. There's an elastic strap on a small portion of the strap near the toe. All of the straps on the shoe are SNAPS. The buckles are there solely to adjust after snapping them together. I don't really see the point of this unless you're lazy, but I certainly don't have any problems with just snapping off the shoes without having to unbuckle them XD
THE COMFORT:
They're surprisingly comfortable! I wore them out for a little bit after putting them on (went shopping, hit up a few places so I was out a fair amount of time), and I didn't experience any discomfort in the slightest. I was very pleased with that.
I was at Otakon all weekend, and my feet are in pretty rough shape due the shoes I cosplayed in, and these didn't hurt my feet at all regardless of that fact!
As far as the "argh my feet are sweaty lolz its so hot : (" aspect, I can't comment on that because I haven't had the chance to wear them outside for extended periods. But what times I was outside, it wasn't too bad. A little hot, but it felt the same as most other maryjanes.
THE SHOES:

I'm very happy with them ♥ :D I don't regret a thing, and they're a very nice red.
Plus, you get really cute packing tape on your thingy XD

awww ;_; I saved it because it was so cute.
Hope this was helpful to anybody going about ordering from Montreal Shoes :D

Date: 2006-08-08 02:59 am (UTC)I had a similar style in black. However, the foot-sliding seemed to be less problematic than the lack of ankle support. In fact, that is a barrier transcendent among all shoe types I wear.
