Hey everybody!

Okay, this is not for RIGHT NOW, as I am quite a but chubbier than I'd like to be at the moment and I'm trying to lose weight before making any big clothing purchases, but I was just wondering how much a reproduction of this MMM dress would probably run (this dress doesn't have to be reproduced in velvet or whatever it is that they're using, I just adore the design and the color):

And also this MM dress:

And another question: is there such a thing as an empire-waisted Lolita dress? Because of the way I'm built (short and stocky,) an empire waist is the most flattering cut for me.

There are many empire waisted lolita dresses. For example:

Lucky! I love that dress. :) Do you have any pictures in it?

If you don't mind me asking, how much does the shirring stretch to do you think? I have a friend who is interested in getting into lolita, but her bust is a bit bigger than the average brand dress. I'm trying to get an idea of what might fit her best.

Thank you!

I don't have pictures of myself in them just yet. I'm bringing them to my vacation, so I'm sure they'll be pics from that in a few weeks... but yeah I have a 40" bust and they both fit me relatively comfortably. The shirring doesn't look totally odd since the lace really obscures it in the front so it doesn't look stretched out. Also, the bust is so high that you don't have to worry about the waist fitting and the rib cage, etc.

If you are busty do NOT buy an empire waisted lolita dress! They are really cute but they will not fit (I know from experience, and have had to gt rid of the first baby dress listed). But if you are under 5' 4" you may be ok.

i don't know about the ones from baby but both i got from meta are ok on tall people. So i suggest metamorphose.

Exactly how are you wearing your dresses? The dress should start at the natural waist and poof out enough to completely mask the appearance of your hips..

They're not supposed to start at the hip.. of course they'd look terrible that way. 8D Empire waists will make you look ten times more awful.

I really love that MM dress, then, I am also interested to know the price to get that dress commissioned. *Thank you! n_n*

do you have a better pic of the MMM dress? its hard to get an idea how much to commission when its under the capelet like that.

for the MM dress, i'd charge $200 (materials included) + shipping.

empire waist is super popular in the fashion. I just purchased a dress from Princess Doll that was empire waist.

i think the empire waist dresses look good usually on overweight girls too. you just have to watch the way it drapes on the model. cause if it makes the model look fat, it's going to make you look fat. but overall, empire waists are good on most people

Make sure that the seam hits under your boobs and doesnt lay ontop of them because it often makes you look like a cow in a mumu :/ no matter your size.

Juliette et Justine seems to specialize in empire babydolls. They're actually really cute. =3 Well, maybe not SPECIALIZE or something that extreme, but they sure do love to make them.
