Hi all. I haven't gotten a hld of any of the goth loli bibles, so I thought I'd ask you lovely ladies and gentlemen.

I'm not sure if anyone else has gone over this already, but what qualifies for goth-loli jewelry? Is it lace? Or just delicate patterns? I ask because I also love antique victorian rings and necklaces and wonder how the rest of the community feels.

To me it seems as though most goth-loli look towards crowns and roses and lace, but what about silver necklaces and the such? Or earrings? Would you say studs or hanging pieces? I'm really curious!

Hm~ I really think it depends what kind of lolita you're dressed in. If you're wearing a classic lolita outfit, for example, I think Victorian jewelry, cameos, delicate patterns, etc. work wonderfully. Gothic lolita can involve black chokers, sometimes spiders/skulls, basically things with a darker feel. From what I've observed, things like pearls, roses, crowns, lace, etc. seem to show up in many different lolita styles.

If you want something more concrete, you can look at the jewelry page of BtSSB's site: http://www.babyssb.co.jp/shopping/acce/index.html BtSSB is very much sweet lolita more than any other style, but I think you can still get a general feel for what is considered "lolita". You can also look at the jewelry/accessories sections of the websites of lolita brand sites that are less sweet lolita and more other styles (Mary Magdalene and Victorian Maiden for classic lolita, for example).

I agree that it really depends on what style you're wearing. Crosses, crowns, flowers, cameos and pearls are some common themes, but I think lace and delicate beadwork looks lovely as well.

I generally think silver works better than gold for most styles (unless it's white gold...) but bronze or gold tones would go wonderfully with Classic Loli. I personally prefer dangly earings with anything and everything, but I think little rose studs would be darling! Or uneven hanging crosses for a gothic look.

I've been pondering making an online store for EGL jewelry so I'm very curious about the results of this thread :D

If you want pieces from Goth shops go for the victorian style stuff and not the "bats + coffin clique" stuff.
