Nov. 9th, 2003 11:48 pmHey, I don't know if anyone on this group would be able to help me with this, but I had a dress design I was considering making, and it involves sleeves which it would be nice to make removable. How do you do that? I was just assuming snaps, but if anyone has more specific advice on it, I'd apreciate it. Also, I wanted to make the big front part a seperate piece that buttons in the back and just goes over the rest of the dress, and I was thinking of giving the dress a rounded collar (peter-pan style, i guess you call them) in the dress body color, that could stick out over the big white piece. Any opinions on this? I'm not sure if it would look good or not, I'm just trying to figure out how I would go about actually constructing this dress in real fabric.
Thanks ^^

Date: 2003-11-10 01:07 pm (UTC)For the rest of it, it looked at first to me to be a pinafore, with a white shirt with a *huge* collar underneath, but I'm sure it's easy to make it all as one piece too, and just have the collar a separate piece. I like the idea of a smaller pink collar over the big white one. So then it would just be a dress with sleeves and collar and slits in skirt, with separate collar and petticoat/skirt?
I'm sure it'll look adorable!
