lolis, i have a request.

i'm working on a paper where we have to compare and contrast two sets of five ads in different categories. i decided for my project i would compare and contrast EGL ads with American gothic fashion ads. i have a GL bible i can pull ads from, but i'm having a hard time finding any american gothic magazine ads.
if any of you have any useful links, please send them!

i feel this partains because it involves egl, but if not, *shrug*

Sign up for Hot topic's newsletter--You'll get all sorts of horrible gothy valentines ads. I signed up to see if I could get a discount on some shoes, and now I have that smeared all over my email :P

That's why you always use a spare hotmail account when signing up for stuff like that ;)

you could always compare to other american fashion ads that are not nessesarily gothic, but in a gothic or lolita inspired style.

Hot Topic's ads (if you can find them ) would be a top choice... but also places like Jessica McClintlock recently had more victorian (and often lolita-ish) outfits and adds... you could compare those!

Sorry, no links, but when I subscribed to Vogue and W magazine a few years ago, they had a lot of ads and articles that are gothic or victorian inspired. Off the top of my head, there was a Louis Vuitton campaign based on Little Red Riding hood, a Vogue spread on Alice in Wonderland and other children's tales, and in W, a couture circus photoshoot with a woman in ringbearer coat and mini tophat (very kodona).

Definitely check the high-fashion mags. Fun stuff.

For gothic links you can look through The Dark Side of the Net (http://darklinks.com), it's a huge web directory :)
