Prom dresses

Prom season is coming up and I happened to come across some gorgeous gowns from Betsey Johnson that I think my fellow Lolitas will drool over. They may show a little too much skin to be strictly lolita, but I really liked the silhouette and details. i think its really pretty. the good thing about it is that after the prom it would look gorgeous with a nice blouse underneath.

Yeah, I never thought of that, I bet it would. The back seems to have some kind of corset lacing if you look at the big picture of it. I wonder if you could find matching ribbons to make straps.

ohh nice, i have my prom coming up too. i already scored some simple prom dresses awhile ago really cheap and i wanted to edit them to make them rather loli ^_^ i'll probably make a post about it later to see if anyone can give me ideas

That's a cool idea. I know most people can't afford the Betsey Johnson dresses, and if they could they'd probably go with something from a Japanese name brand, but I thought they were just so pretty that I had to share. It will be interesting to see what you can come up with. Everybody here is so creative.

strangely i like that green one... the tp on it looks so pretty i bet u could easily loli it up with a nice shrug n what not >_< so expensive though!! Thank god i get out of going to prom*early graduate*

The green one is very pretty too, my only concern is that the lace might be itchy and rub on the skin around the bodice and under the arms if you're actually going to move around in it a lot. The page said that that one was lighter colored than it appeared online. I wonder what it would look like true to color. hmmm

Awww. At least you got to see how pretty it is in person, I don't think we even have any stores around here that would carry it. It's good to know that it doesn't need a petticoat, in case anyone ends up ordering it online. I guess that's one additional expense they won't need to worry about, which is probably good considering how pricey they are.

Yeah they are all pretty fabulous. It's nice that somebody decided to make prom dresses that are pretty and feminine without being slutty. On prom girls want to feel like a princess, not a cocktail waitress.

I LOVE Betsey!!

I have two dresses from her, and love them both. One I got 75% off, one was 30%, but damn, they're classy.

I'm actually going to buy another this weekend. It's also 75% off. But still 84 bucks!
