I had an odd dream a few nights ago where I was at the opera searching for a specific girl in gothic lolita garb, I have the feeling I was supposed to ask her something.

So my question is: Has anyone here ever worn EGL or EGA to an opera? (I've never been to one, but I'd love to try it.) What does everyone think of the idea? I was thinking something tragic would be a perfect type to wear it out to!

I might try something along those lines once my sewing machine gets out of storage, so let me know your feedback!

I've had a smiliar idea for a while now. :O Sadly, there haven't been any operas in my area for a while, but I think it'd be a neat idea.

I've always wanted to go in EGL with an aristocrat on my arm. ^__^ I find the whole scene very romantic!

My parents have been regualr subscribers and sometimes let me have their seats with the LA Opera.. Middle of the Founder's Circle.. Second row.. If I had more proper EGA stuff, I'd go in it. However, I only have one frilly-ish white shirt and my regular tux pants that I couple with a black vest.

That reminds me.. I need to sharpen my eyeliner pencil.. not that I use it much.. I'm not very good....

Personally, I think Lolita and Opera would go smashingly together. Especially if it were a fancier dress!

I love opera, and lolita clothes do suit the scenery! I've seen... let's see... Tosca, The Magic Flute, Macbeth, and Aida dressed in either lolita or aristrocrat outfits. And Sleeping Beauty, but that was a ballet. And Midsummer Night's Dream, but that was a play. ^_^

Hmm, it wasn't exactly opera, but I wore a Victorian Maiden dress with a BPN velvet bolero to an historic opera house in town to see an orchestra perform a live soundtrack to a silent movie last weekend. I almost always wear gothic lolita to "events".

I haven't yet, but I'm going to see DRACULA in October and I plan dress up Gothic Lolita~ I think plays, opera, ballet and the like are great for dressing up in that manner.

If I had the money to make a beautiful victorian EGA outfit and the money to attend an oprea, I would kill to do so. I'd kill to see plays and ballet in lolita garb as well *_*

Actually I did try to wear a black dress I got from Foley's back in July when I went to see Phantom of the Opera with my sister. Too bad she hates lolita, so I couldn't wear it in a more gothic lolita way. Um~ I'm thinking about wear a beautiful one-piece when I see Nutcraker! *^^*

Whenever I think of getting an EGL dress, I instantly think of wearing it to the opera. That's kinda like my "fantasy," I guess ^_^;
