does anyone own a wig from bodyline? i know what the la croix noire wigs are like, and im wondering if they are much different. i want the long wavy but its not availble in the color i would like, but it is from bodyline. the bodyline ones look really nice from the website, i just want to make sure they aren't "fake" hair looking. i mean sure they looks like a wig, i just wouldn't want over shiny looking hair.

I need to know how to do this. Can anyone translate it for me?? I have to do my lipstick like this for tomorrow. I tried to do it on my own and it came out alright but I think I'm doing something wrong still. Thank you soooo much!!

I never posted my picture from Halloween, so here we go (even though it's pretty late, haha):

I dub this one EGL Gloom... )

I know a handful of people are going to be having get togethers over the holidays, and what better snack to serve than cookies? My local paper ran about a dozen cookie recipes yesterday, and these are two I tried out. My roomates and friends all enjoyed them, and they're pretty cute and just the sort of cookie that looks at home on a loli table. :)

Hi! I'm sorry for posting without first introducing myself, but... errr... I kinda forgot. ^_^;; I hope all of you haven't been seeing my posts and wondering what kind of a lunatic I am. XP (Now you won't have to wonder anymore, because I can tell you! =^_^=)

Well, for starters, I can't say that my GL wardrobe is very big (I've only got a skirt so far, with a blouse and dress coming for Christmas), but I really love the style and I'm always longing to have the GL dresses and accessories I can't afford (or just plain won't fit into). Hmm.. my name is Allison (though I go by Kitten most of the time), I'm 17 years old, and I live in St. Louis, Missouri. I hope that's all the basics, because I can't think of anymore. ><;

I've been in this community for a few days so far just reading and responding to people's posts, and you all seem so nice and helpful! I can tell I'm really going to like it here. ^__^ I also like to sew and make assorted things to wear (I'm somewhat of a cosplayer), and I'd really like to start making GL clothes and accessories soon. :3 I hope I can be as much of a help and friend for all of you as I'm sure you all will be for me. =^_^=

I guess that's it for now, but if there's anything you wanna ask me, feel free to do so!

Thanks for reading, and I'll see you all around! ♥

I know this has been asked many a time before, but I've been searching the archives of several communities and found nothing... and I remembered that somebody posted a tutorial a long time ago here on just the subject. Plus you're all lovely and helpful!

What's the best way to go about painting & customising shoes? I just got my hands on a pair of white mary janes and they NEED LIFE DAMMIT.

patterns

Hi! I'm new to gothic lolita ness, my name is Emily, and I was wondering if anyone has/knows where I can get some patterns for G & L dresses? I can probably make them from pretty basic patterns combined, but it would be nice if someone knew where I could get some. I would be very thankful for any info.

I have an outfit I put together tonight that I might wear for school tomorrow. I'm doing my term paper presentation tomorrow so thank you so much for everyone who contributed!
And So continuing on... I wanted to wear this outfit while I give my report but only if it would really be considered Gothic Lolita. So please look at the pictures and tell me ^-^.
Please help ^-^ )

Dying lace?

It's so hard to find lace in black around me, and sometimes the pretty white lace aren't offered in black. Has anyone attempted to dye lace made from rayon before? I'm just afraid it might fade differently than the other store bought lace, and that'll just look terribly funky on the same garment. I think people have recommended Rit-dye before, but I think that was for cotton fabric. Thanks ahead for any help. :D

Petticoat

Does anyone know any good patterns or easy methods for making your own petticoat? I am having trouble finding one, and i don't want to spend a fortune. >.

I know a lot of you, including myself, were having trouble with white chocolate. Yesterday I asked my grandmother how to make white chocolate smooth to coat things like the skull chocoballs. Here's the secret:
Add a little canola oil!
It's a flavourless oil and will help your chocolate to coat cookies smoothly.

I just wanted to thank everyone so much for all the advice on the pictures I posted. For now I think I'll just wear things I normally do to school and just stick with the pictures for my project and then when I can improve my clothing before I wear an outfit to school. I'll be working on that outfit alot and also seeing about getting some new shoes this christmas that woulds work better. Since I'll have more money at Christmas I'll be able to do alot more.
When I finally get the look down I'll make sure to post pictures for you guys.
The outfit (once bettered) will most likely make it's premier at Countryside mall in Florida because My friend Natalie and I dress loli to the mall. I'll be borrowing one of her Bodyline dresses for our mall trip this Saturday and we'll make sure to get pictures of that too. I'll also have my hair done better.

Thank you all again. <333

P.S. I really really didn't mean to seem like I was un-apreciative of the advice or trying to dismiss it. I know people could be really mean but everyone was nice about it no matter how bad they thought I looked.

If this has been asked before, or is considered too off topic, just delete it. ^_^;;

Anyway, I was wondering about Japanese shoe sizes. I never bought any shoes while in Japan, but I did get socks. Now, most of them are 22-24cm, except for my loose socks, which are 25cm and a bit too large for me. So now I was wondering, how much do the socks differ from the shoes? Is it like here in Europe, where you can usually wear at leasy one size smaller in socks? I'm asking because I'm thinking of having a friend buy me a pair of shoes from BPN, since she's in Tokyo at the moment, anyway...

Any and all help is much appreciated.

Thank you for being so patient with me... ^_^;;

P-Chan

I just thought I would share some images I scanned/captured from the manga/anime Gokinjo Monogatari, they are all of the lolita character in it called P-Chan. They aren't very good as she is only a minor character but she is still cute. The anime is very low quality because it's very old and from the time when all anime was on 40mb RMs.

Sorry if this has alreay been done... it's pretty old news :\

i found the most incredible dress online. it was kind of expensive though...
anybody has any tips?
i just got to have it! :)

i want it so bad )

---

might add that some said that it wasn't really expensive, and i can agree on one level. but as i live in sweden the shipping must be kind of expensive. plus, we have an extra fee, that's 25% and also a fee of 12% plus shipping IN sweden (which is super expensive)
i hate it!
