There's this pink and white polkadot skirt I have that I made a couple of weeks ago - it was a little boring though, so last night I added some trim to make it more interesting. I know it's not typically EGL, but this community does promote home sewing and self creation so I thought you guys might be interested.

I sewed 4 meters of pink ribbon and lace together, then gathered it together and pinned it onto the skirt in a spiral. I then sewed it up, et voila!

Just another reminder

My friend is holding a wonderful loliday on Nov 1st in celebration of Dia de los Muertos. I just wanted to post another reminder - just in case there are those who have forgotten about the wonderful plan, or for those who have just joined the community to come and participate in this wonderful bonding event. I would like to avoid cluttering the livejournal (considering the amount of traffic that goes through).

Some of the nicest looking Loli-able Ebay finds aren't listed under "gothic lolita" (and some of the strangest stuff DOES get listed as gothic lolita, but that's another story). Some of them may not be completely EGL at first glance, but with slight modification (rounding a pointed collar) and or being worn with the right items (black lace trimmed skirt floofed up with a petticoat) their potential could shine. Plus they frequently go for a lot less than those listed as such, which is always good for those of us who can't afford Lolita items straight from Japan. My search parameters were "blouse (lace, ruffle, ruffles, ruffled)". Below is just a small sampling of what turned up... mostly the results were white or cream.
