Thanks to everyone who liked the bits and bobbles Apokryptein posted from what we worked on. This is the last of the four, more ega than egl, though the veil could go either way, I think. I might experiment with a dark kana style dress for ebay at some point.

Fairly picture intensive.. Sadly cruddy pictures on the full length poses due to lack of assistant and a somewhat wobbly, limp, and too short tripod, but you get the idea... The train's a bit longer than you can see in the pictures. I'm 5'7" and wearing 7" platforms, so it's a pretty impressive train. I'm happy with the overall effect of the skirt (mourning taffeta) and the veil. Might make something similar for myself some day.

And close up of the veil detailing and veil:

Detailing is hand sewn, veil roses and leaves are likewise hand work rather than something pre-fab. I like adding more unique touches.

wow *_*

You, ma cherie, are a VERY talented seamstress and designer ^_^ I'm just getting started sewing myself, but my first project (Dark Eden's Genesis) won the Victorian Doll award at Anime Expo's EGL/EGA tournament, so I think I'm off to a good start.

Mind if I add you to my friends list? ^-^

I'm sure you'll think of something to do with all that fabric ^_^ It'd be a shame to throw it out. If you don't have enough fabric to make a blouse or skirt or anything, why not work on some headpieces or gloves, even armwarmers/legwarmers? They don't take much fabric or lace, and they're really easy to make.

*adds you* My new friend <3 ^.^

Waaaaaai, taffeta... I admire both your skill and your patience!

Myu myu, perhaps you would know... how to hang a bustle skirt? I can't seem to get my design (and the skirt) to hang right. I'm trying to do the slender-bustle styles like galleryserpentine.com makes... out of black satin, ai! *giggles* I am also trying to use up my stock of fabric. You seem to be doing a much prettier job than I!

Waaaaaa, really? I'll love you forever! *hearts*
(I've a corset coming in -- and, of course, nothing to wear with it.)

*grins* I've had one year already! Of history and design, though; they refuse to let me into the "grads only" drafting class, despite my entire motivation for entering the department was drafting. >_< I really just need to buy myself a textbook and teach myself one of these days... which is why I'll adore you for sharing your insight and skills with me! *heart* Yay, collective learning!

ooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhh
