While I realize Hot Topic is rather popular as it is and some may scoff at those who like it or some such thing, I found some arm warmers that struck me as rather lolli-ish.

I'm sorry I don't often contribute to the community, but I don't have the money to buy things right now. Rather poor, and without a job :\ I wish I had some lolita things of my own to show off..

Those are really cute, but I never get arm warmers there because they're always way overpriced.

They'd be cute with some lace trim or a ruffle at the bottom. If they had the ruffle then they'd be worth the price.

But that's ok. Apparently on Ebay someone bid $10 for a headband for a costume. A strip of fabric that looked like it was the narrow part of a tie, cut off. For $10. Oy VEY.

the armwarmers are cute, but i do agree they are a bit overpriced. Hottopic itself is overpriced and becoming a bit too trendy. i think the closest they've come to EGL are these here shoes:

for 32.99

sadly, only because the design is DIRECTLY stolen from a brand in Japan which had their shoes in Gothic & Lolita Bible #7.

give or take a few inches in the heel. but the one in G&L Bible went for 7,900 yen ($66.16)

I know how you feel, i also lack the funds to support my egl/ega fetish. nor can i really sew great enough to piece together a whole outfit. i usually just buy the dresses from HT when they are on clearance at like 7-10bucks and redo them. works for me.

Somehow I don't think that Hot Topic could have managed to pull off a design rip in that short of time. First of all, most of the shoes aren't even made by Hot Topic themselves and some obscure goth shoe designer. The G&L Bible 7 is quite recent, and usually designs take LONG times to be approved and even longer to be produced. And I greatly doubt the designers are looking in the G&L Bible; if they were, they would have picked plenty of things to copy before one measly pair of shoes. Lots of shoes look the same.
And even if by some freak of nature they DID steal the idea... shouldn't you be happy you could buy them at half the price, let alone buy them at all?
