INSOLE INSANITY

*Dumb question alert*
Although finding insoles seems dummy proof, there are too many brands and types. I simply just don't know which ones will work the best, so I've come to here. I've checked LJseek and the memories using "insole" and "big shoes".

I have these wonderful, black shoes perfect for lolita, and they are a freaking  smidge too big, just by a centimeter or so. I know I can fix this with insoles, but is there a type of brand that works the best in fixing this minor gap? I know lots of girls have complained of shoes being slightly too large, so what insoles do you buy, just...any insole? Gel, Fabric, plastic???? The posturepedic section of publix is overwhelming...
