Since I don't have the strong moral convictions of [livejournal.com profile] puregirlblue, I will be partially spoiling the English GLB in the following pictures.

A comparison. The first Japanese GLB on the left, and the english version on the right. Honestly the english cover looks better. The first Japanese GLB is pretty much a glorified catalogue with only one page of street snaps and a spread of makeup and hair tips. The "manga" is a "this is where the shops are" guide.

Let's play spot the egl members!

[livejournal.com profile] oshidori!!! On the right there are new street snaps of Japanese lolitas, and what lolita means to them. They're not so... neurotic about definitions as we are it seems.

[livejournal.com profile] thatcalliecat on the left explaining what loltia means to her. On the right are more of the japanese lolita snaps.

What's a teen magazine without a quiz with obvious answers?

What we all came to see -- the article featuring egl members written by an egl member. [livejournal.com profile] xelyna on the left. [livejournal.com profile] jolie_laide our old mod right top. [livejournal.com profile] faukegin on bottom left with mislabeled friend. I cut off poor [livejournal.com profile] miyu_sakura on the bottom right.

[livejournal.com profile] shanzig on top. [livejournal.com profile] insomniel on bottom. [livejournal.com profile] swd_punk on the right.

There's an interview with Candy Violet which I'm sure you've all read. Also an article on Aimee Major.

The rest are actual translated japanese content from various volumes of past japanese GLBs. It's kinda random which past issue of GLB they pulled from actually. Very deja vu. P.S. I <3 Ayana/Choyko-nyan.

All those text you thought you were missing out on? Not really missing out on much... And omg, top right's corsetted waist? ::faints::

Case in point. Seeing it in English really drives home how cheesy the whole fashion really is. XD I think it's better to live in ignorance.

Catalogue time! From Spring 2005. Wow the GLB's a time machine too! Quite amazing. :P (Second issue supposedly will have more up-to-date ads.)

The patterns. I know they went with just accessories this time, because they're working on modifying the patterns to fit western sizes on the next issues.

Kana actually wearing clothes on top of her underwear this time.

Get a magnifying glass, cuz the font is tiiiny.

I'm not home right now, but this originally was featured in the "Princess" themed GLB. If someone figures out which volume number it is, please let me know. EDIT: Most of the Japanese content seems to come from Volume 16 including these princess profiles. The original also had half a page of talking about Princess Diaries. Yeah... That disney movie. Lol. XD

Nana Kitade interview.

Lofty Novala writes almost incoherent photo essay.

J-Rock article?

HAHAHAHA.

Awww, now I can't make up silly conversations about tomatoes with the manga.

I picked the most amusing pictures, so this is only a portion of the contents. Teasing aside, all in all, I think it's a great start. Think of pilot episodes, nothing's going to be perfect on the first try. Since there are no ads in the first issue. Only the revenue from selling the first one will help ensure there's a second issue. I really encourage everyone to contribute. Apparently there was some misunderstanding about this, but lolitas from anywhere in the world can submit pictures, not only U.S. lolitas. If the magazine sells well, brands would be even more inclined to expand their operations. So come on, let's show our western lolita prowess!

The GLB officially hits the shelves 2/12 in all major bookstores such as Barnes and Noble and Borders etc.
