Kimono

Alright, I know kimono are not really EGL but I think they are some of the prettiest things ever. I've even seen some girls on EGL pages wearing like a little girl would (by wearing their obi'a higher then normal). What do you all think of them?

I think you shouldn't worry about whether something is "really" EGL because, I'll bet, that if you wear it in that fashion, it'll *become* EGL. You be the boss!

I've seen a kimono also worn with a midi-corset and it was awfully cute.

I like kimonos! And I agree that you shouldn't worry about whether something is really EGL or any other style for that matter. Fahion comes and goes, and it's more important to wear what you like to wear than to bind yourself to one particular fashion style. And you can always manipulate a style to personalize it or to include other things that you like, such as kimonos!

I made a gothic lolita kimono once... it was black and covered with lace and crosses, as well as Japanese motifs... It also had a black train of tulle on the back of it and was meant to be worn as a complete costume with a veil/headdress and an obi. If I can find where I put my pictures of it, I'll post some here... I was considering selling it because I don't have anywhere to wear it (there is no Halloween/AnimeConventions/J-Rock Conventions or any chance to cosplay eleborate costumes in Australia). However, I still really like it^^;;
Also, I've seen really short kimono (like mini-skirt kimonos) for sale before... imagine a pink one with a big white obi, trimmed in lace... it would make great lolita cosplay! Heh, I should make one myself, if I had the time...

Sounds yummy! Not to sound like a "me too" but yah, wear what YOU like. Don't worry so much if something is Xstyle as much as if it's an expression of who you are.

I've always wanted to punk out a kimono with safety pins and rivets and wear it around like a punk jacket. Go for it! An egl kimono sounds really cute.
