I'm actually getting it for Christmas, at first I assumed it would be warm if I opted on a velvet coat but otherwise it's just a nice light frock coat. The main detail I didn't notice, that will -never- allow it to be warm is that vest. It's a false-vest...so from the picture the coat is as is and never can close beyond that.... therefore its best suited to get it in the original fabric its made in and wear it during fall or spring since your torso is really exposed no matter what its made out of, the chilly winds will ruin it's warmth and it's not of a style that'll look right with many layers.
Quality wise, I've seen a few posts a long time ago with someone wearing the coat from F+F and it looked pretty much the same as the picture which is what convinced me to get it. I've gotten a few things from F+F, some I'm happy with, some that are okay. I contemplated on this coat since it's pricey HOWEVER... like I said, the pics I've seen with people wearing it. It looks fantastic but just don't plan to use it as a winter coat o_O;; unless your winters are around 50F degrees.
Oh if you're in FL, no worries then...^^;; I live in NYC so sometimes its frigid here hence why I spent months contemplating and wouldn't get it if someone didn't offer to buy it for christmas because I can't use it for the winter unless a photoshoot or something... It's really nice though! Oh and in general I like F+F's quality. It's pretty top-notch for a replication company. It's always lined with a comfortable linen not something cheap that'll make rustle noises.
The ONLY thing I don't like about them is their screen-printing + cheap lacing which I can replace with better ribbons.. and the screen print I'll just rant in my corner about >_>;;
Hope you decide to buy it :D I love that coat's design xD..
I don't know, but thanks for a new website! I am going to start sewing some EGL stuff here soon, I ordered a bible finally, now to learn to read it! But this webiste is awesome, they are so well priced. Their skirts make me very happy!
Well, the original Boz coat: http://www.boz.ne.jp/main.php?act=detail&sysnum_lrg=1&sysnum_mid=1&sysnum_item_cd=435&20061209115944 Is made of polyester, so it's more of a lightweight spring type coat..I'm not sure about the F+F one but it's probably a similar idea.
