This is my latest outfit that I made, let me know what you think. I'll try to get someone to take pictures tonight of me wearing it.

Very nice, and quite simple. Are the sleeves detachable?

It seems that you prefer a simplistic style of lolita, which is nice. Although I think that lots of frills, and doo-dads look cute, I tend to prefer a cleaner style for my own clothes because I'm really not a person who goes well with frills.

Although, may I suggest a bit more lace on the skirt? I think it would look nice with vertical stips of lace in a paneled style.

I started sewing last June. Its a great hobby. Unfortunately, school and things are very time consuming and I haven't had much spare time to sew and draw and all that fun stuff. ^_^; Right now I'm making a skirt-kinda thing with straps that come over the shoulders. The material is pink and white with strawberries. I was going for the kana-esque look, but it seems more FRUiTSy now that I've got it almost done :D I'll post pics whenever that day comes, hehe.

Heeh, that sounds a little bit like the thing I'm making now. Except mine i s in ugly plaid. In fact, one of my goals for this weekend was to finish at least the skirt part- which won't take much longer, all I have to do is topstitch the waistband, sew lace along the hem, and sew on 4 buttons. : ) The skirt will be wearable without the straps, which will be pretty easy to make too- they're just strips of fabric with lace around the edges and a buttonhole on both ends of each one. : ) Heeh ^^: I'm curious to see pictues of yours now because I wonder how similar/different it is from the one I'm making : ) hee. It sounds cute! ^^

What color plaid is yours in? And what pattern did you use? I used the simplicity wizard of oz pattern, myself. :D I modified dorothy's dress. *nods* My straps aren't detatchable, though it'd be a good idea if they were. I still have to attatch the waistband and do the buttons and the buttonholes. After that I guess I'll just sew on lace wherever I deem it necessary ^_^; I'm curious as to how yours is looking too! Be sure to post lots of piccies!

Well the plaid is.... er... it was $1 a yard, that's why I bought it, to be honest ^^; But it's not as bad as I made it out to be. It's an ivory base with plaid in brown, light blue, and burgandy. It actually looks OK together. As for a pattern, I did it without a pattern- it's really just a bunch of rectangles- the skirt is 5 rectangles (though that was just for ease of applying the lace on the panels), the waistband is 2 rectangles, and the straps are 2 rectangles each. Heh. I generally like to make up my own patterns for things... I think it's generally harder to alter an existing pattern than it is to just make up my own. Then again, the results aren't always all that good. ^^;

Yay for sewing ^^

I'm actually wearing the skirt right now... Maybe if my friend can get her new digicam to work I can get a picture of it... Otherwise I'll have to take it on a roll of film, and those take me forever to develop ^^;

I hate doing buttonholes at home..but in school we have a machine that is specialized on making buttonholes and those look great...

If you are talking about my blood smeared lolita icon, it was from a photo shoot on a site that I dont think exists anymore (as far as I know).

WOW! I really like your dress. How did you make it? Did you make it from a pattern? I might have to try to make that dress later, it's really pretty ^_^ You did a nice job with it.
