egl_archiveHi! I'm new to this community and I've been slowly gathering various Elegant Gothic pieces of clothing over the past year or so. I'm primarily a thrift shop gal, so I also sew and alter a lot of things myself.
I'm more inclined towards the EGA look, although I've promised myself that I will make myself a lolita outfit someday.
Here are some pictures of my random EGA outfit pieces - obviously my dorm room is not the optimal place for picture taking, but camera problems and all that.
This coat is one of my favourite aquisitions so far. It's a very nice soft wool(possibly acrylic, but it's soft) with nice thick satin lining and ...cost $20 at my local Goodwill. The hat I'm wearing was $2. I'm going for the Elegant Gothic Cheapo look. =)
My favourite corset! It has forty steel bones in it. Probably a lot more gothy than "elegant" but I love it anyway. I made the suedecloth chemise.
More corsety-ness. I didn't lace it up too tightly for rib preservation reasons. The grey-green thing is neither lolita or aristocrat-esque, I know.=)

Date: 2004-02-23 09:19 pm (UTC)I got the corset from an ebay seller...I believe the name was alteregoerotics...lemme look it up. Their corsets tend more towards the industrial look, but they are VERY well made and very well priced(mine was about $110 for a leather corset).

I feel like Valencia is so far from LA! (my boyfriend lives in LA lol) I'm sure it's nice there though in Southern Cali. I can't wait <3
