Hello again to everyone. Remember me? I'm new and I promised that I would post some pictures as soon as my dress came in.

So, I was hoping some of you could give me tips on how to do my hair perhaps? Thank you all so much!

Sorry for cross posting ;_;

Well, forgive me for saying so, but that style of dress doesn't really suit you. Perhaps you could try something that is more flattering to your curvaceous figure? I know most loli dresses are made for flat girls, but some of the more Victorian-inspired stuff with the longer waists, and a corset to flatter your gorgeous cleavage, would look much better. That dress looks like it's hanging off your breasts, and totally erases your waist. If you had it custom made, you should go back and ask the tailor to fix it for you.

As for your hair, I'd advise putting it into ringlets.

I second those suggestions...I've got the same issue. I'm not a big girl, but I am curvy...and dresses like that just hang straight off my boobs. simple styles with fitted waists and keeping the lacey stuff away from the waist and chest...I've found some cutesy waist cinchers(not really intended for tightlacing..just to keep your dress close to your waist) and such...maybe a corsetted dress with a big bow in the back and a full skirt with a fluffy petticoat. guess it all depends on how set you are on following "rules" or if you're down with improvising.........and yes, ringlets all the way ;)

The thing to look for in clothing is lines and structures that create shape. The dress irself makes you look too box-like. What you want to do is cinch the waist in (with a corset) and poof the skirt with a petticoat. This will give you a more flattering shape. Also since you have a sizeable bosom, I would suggest a corset like and Edwardian one which will lift it and round it, enhancing the overall shape of the outfit.

Also, A-line dresses, when properly tailored, look flattering on larger figures. And I would suggest heels with an ankle strap to add emphasis to the curve of your legs.

Be careful with petticoats, though - they can make you look REALLY wide, even if you have a tiny waist! I think a good look would be a victorian-styled riding jacket over a lacy blouse, with a very full (but not puffy!) knee length or longer skirt. Longer skirts make your figure look longer. :)

Oh yes, that's an excellent idea. Great point!

Ringlets yes! or an up do. Ringlet it and pull it up.

And agreed. That dress just looks silly.
It obvilously doesn't fit very well and is intended for sombody much shorter than you are. It's not a baby doll dress and it fits like one.

It is?
O_o
Odd. It looks like the cross ribbon is supposed to be Under the bust not directly over it.
Least that's how it generally fits on dresses.
With how low your bust is it just looks too low. I agree on a waist cincher or a corset that'll lift your 'bossom' up.
Your bust would normally be up further in the design and showing a bit of clevage. With the scooped neck line and all.
That ribbon in the front keeps confusing me. I Swear it's supposed to be a normal waist line not a babydoll.

Also if you want easy curls don't get hot rollars. Go on a search for velcro rollers. Easy to put in and with a bit of hair spray and letting them dry in damp hair you get Great curls.
Without burning yourself.

Here's the dress fitted properly, if a little loosely (looks like the seamstress fucked it all up for Leechan):

The ribbon is no good at all. It needs to be changed. If I were you, lee, I'd send the dress back with a hearty complaint. It does not fit at all like it's supposed to.

ooooooh. I see now.
And I second that 'send it back' comment!

3 for "send it back". :)

I'm somewhat busty for my size and I completely avoid anything with a high waist like that (can't think of the exact name for the style at the moment). I remember hearing years ago that those were originally worn at court to hide pregnancy. Not the sort of thing you want if you're trying to emphasize bust-to-waist difference.

Ah! I remember now: empire waisted. (I hate 'em.)

If you're considering altering the dress anyway, might I suggest either removing or changing the placement of the lace-up ribbon? ^^ I think if the black lace of the neckline was extended all the way to the waist and the ribbon was laced between that it would have a much neater and cuter look. Or if it was totally removed, that would be okay too. But the way it currently is with the ribbon on the bust seams, it's too wide (not just for you, for anyone -- I think the designer is really at fault for taking such a shortcut) and looks stretched-out.

And I think your hair would be really cute if you pulled most of it back in some kind of twist/bun, leaving a lock on each side in the front free. It's a quick but cute style for blunt cuts.

Yep, that was gonna be my suggestion. That's what I do with dresses that don't fit. A nice bodice or cincher would probably make this outfit work. If you make changes (like the corset and whatnot), post more pics so we can see!

You have the most beautiful auburn/blonde hair @_@ I think if you wore your hair in ringlets (like everyone else suggested), they'd suit you.

I'd like to say - i'm a rather large girl, and being large, and loving EGL sometimes doesnt work for me. though i have to say - getting a corset (if you can afford it, i know i can't) would definately be better for you. i think it would suit the dress better.

if you think you're going to get it altered - i highly suggest the removal of the ribbons in the front. perhaps you could request adding some darts to that area in hopes that it will fit your form better. or you i bet with your creative mind find a better subsitute for that ribbon.

i think once that problem is fixed - you'll be such a darling! you're already there! just a few touch ups on the dress. ^.^ i hope my 2 cents count.

With your figure, I think those classical, french court gowns will fit you perfectly!!!

Not to depress you, but i think those noble like, long court lady dresses suit you more than this short victorian inspired dress.

P.S- love your hair (since I don't have natural blond hair)

I think, not putting all of your hair in ringlets but just curling the ends for a wavy look?

I have big boobs and love EGL too. Plus I'm muy muy short.
I tried on a long empire dress (fits the chest, then flare from ribcage down).
It's very cute and forgiving!
Plus, it's kind of different, y'know?

I agree on the suggestions to remove the ribbons. They just don't look right.

I'd play up the way the waist is just under your bust. Babydoll/empire waisted dresses look really cute on big girls I think (and a little foopit on skinny chicks like me imo, meh), but mostly if they flare/food out nicely. Maybe put a nice fluffy petticoat underneath?
I'm not one to advise bigger girls doing loli (or in general) to avoid anything that makes them look "bigger" or like they're "taking up more space." I think it's even more fun to go for maximum volume for a cute chubby child in doll like foof. Ok, that probably came out wrong, but you get the idea.
